L’Oriental

Having lived in France, the one thing I miss in the UK is a decent couscous restaurant. Having stopped in Alencon for the night, decided to try the L'Oriental. Wasn't disappointed. Great food, reasonably priced. Will definitely go there the next time I happen to be in Alencon.

Bombay Palace

The quality of the food served at this indian restaurant is acceptable (the main courses are pre-made and micro-waved) but the price is good value (10-12€ menus for lunch; 15€ dishes for dinner). The naans are good, but the lassis are closer to watered-down milk-shakes than real lassis.Service is extremely fast and nice.

This is not fine dining but a real treat for the tastebuds. The authentic Kebab on it's circular rotisserie is plain and ordinary but the rest of the menu is extraordinary! Lamb, veal, chicken all cooked and marinated in different ways. The take away service is quick. The restaurant service as well is great - the yogurt dip and the toasted breads are lovely and done freshly for your table. We had the set meal for two which was an enormous plate of different meats cooked over charcoal with home made chips, fresh crispy salads and as much Harissa as you wish. It was a wonderful and unexpected experience from the plain looking outside should be a regular Kebab shop but turns out to be one of the best restaurants I have ever have been to....Fantastic!!
