We had seen this restaurant before but when we read under the restaurant name that it was modern, I figured it was kind of like Americanized ....like taco shell and beans in can. :( However we loved their service! There chips and salsa were delicious they give you at least 4 to try and my favorite was an orange looking one that seemed to have peanuts. My Sanga- Rita was strong and had a nice flavor and we ordered appetizers omg they were so so delicious !!! Small sopes but they were so yummy! And last but not least my enchiladas verdes. I enjoyed it. We all ordered different things they were all delicious and authentic. I love how they have vegan meals and gluten free on their menus. They later gave us dessert un flan y un pastel de chocolate. This place really delivered! I will definitely recommend this and be returning! Friendly servers- clean place- delicious food. I came out of the restaurant very happy with myself ;)

We went on a Sunday evening. There was no wait. We ordered a Taco Azul, Iggy's Spinach Enchiladas and an Avocado Burrito. All three were mild and underspiced. The taco's were the best of the lot. I couldn't find the enchiladas, "smothered" -- drowned the better word -- as they were in goopy cheese. Service was efficient if not particularly friendly. Beer options are good. Ambiance is happy corporate. In sum, the Salty Iguana has nothing special to recommend it but is a serviceable option if you're in the neighborhood and need a fix of Tex-mex like food.Hello, We're sorry to learn that your experience with us wasn't perfect and that you left with mixed feelings. Third time here...and third time satisfied! Service was excellent; the server was patient with our party that straggles in over 20 minutes, and accommodating with several special requests. The chips were warm every basketful. The cream cheese chicken enchiladas are amazing! We will return again and again.

#1 Fun staff that treat you well, #2 Great atmosphere on balcony overlooking Plaza area, #3 Fantastic Drinks, and then if you want to eat, lots of great choices. Strongly recommend a couple of the New Mexican Martinis. Great place for drinks and chips only or a full meal. With all of the eating options around the Plaza, visited this eatery twice on our most recent trip.

Rainy Friday night meant Mexican food INDOORS, so off to Chelly's after 6:30 p.m. hoping we'd catch a break in the crowd. Silly us -- sixth party in line -- but LUCKY us -- two spots at the bar. So we took 'em.Only real weakness at Chelly's is the salsa -- it ain't really salsa -- more like taco sauce. Didn't stop us from eating two baskets of chips while waiting for shrimp and avocado quesadillas (the go-to meal here for Mrs. B) and chili rojo for me . . . I usually have something different every time. Quesadillas nothing short of excellent (she gave me a section) and the chili rojo was just fine. Margarita good, Negra Modelo good, service good, prices moderate . . . what's not to like?
