Good food, some unique options, kitchen was slow. We had our Kids (7 and 8 years) with us, and they are somewhat adventerous eaters. :) not a kid- friendly place, but they were accomidating with menu requests. Cocktails were delicious...wish we were here on a date!

Mezcal

We decided to come to Mezcal for dinner and we were not let down. The interior has a nice authentic ambiance about it. The staff, and especially, our server - Tanya, was very nice. We ordered several things, including margaritas. The chicken tinga tostada contained the best tinga that we've eaten. We also had the camarone enchilada, which had shrimp, and it was excellent. The salsa had a big kick and the cream was really nice. Another entree, the machaca was beef with rice & beans and salad with guacamole. Though it was a bit on the plain side, it will be good for a leftover lunch tomorrow. We both thought the shrimp was the best entree that we ordered. We also ordered two different margaritas, one with regular tequila and one with 1800 coconut tequila. What's is not to like about margaritas, these were especially good! They had a sombrero on the table which held the tortillas - it was a nice touch. Prices were reasonable and the food was tasty.

I always stop by it is next door to the Marriott Courtyard. A locally supported Mexican restaurant with authentic food, nothing fancy and a favorite with the locals. Especially fun on a Sunday night.
