El Vaquero West

Dropped in on a cold, rainy Saturday a little after 5:00, the parking lot was already full (parking limited, but there is other parking in easy walking distance). If you eat a lot of Tex-Mex, you like to have your favorites on the menu; all the standards are here with good sized portions for a good price and friendly service. Felt like I was back in Dallas or Houston.

Recently renovated, this restaurant offers spacious dining areas, a friendly wait-staff, authentic, home cooked Tex Mex cuisine with generous portions. My husband and I had never been to this restaurant despite living in Gainesville, VA nearly 16 years. Having a small storefront, we did not quite know what it was. We have tried many Tex Mex restaurants in the Northern Virginia area and this one is our favorite by far. El Tio is located in the Giant Food strip mall in the Virginia Gateway shopping center. Don't let the outside deceive you. It is a full-sized restaurant with large dining rooms and ample space between tables. The food is authentic, fresh and tasty, very much like the food we remember from living near San Antonio, Texas. The staff greet each guest as they arrive and wish you well as you leave. The service is attentive and prompt. The portions are generous and the price is mid-range.If you are looking for great Mexican Food and want that home-style flavor, try El Tio's. You will not be disappointed.

Uncle Julio's

After visiting Don Chatos Delicias I needed to find another Mexican restaurant. The food was just okay nothing to write home about. I wasn't impressed with the Chicken Enchiladas, but the chips and dip were extremely good. The place is surrounded by many other restaurants so try them out then go see a good movie and afterwards get ice cream. Plenty of parking available on the side of the restaurant. However, on weekends it can be tough to find parking space since it’s a plaza of restaurants and great place to walk around. Outside seating and great in the summer time to enjoy the weather. Tables are tight inside but plenty of seating on both sides of the restaurant. The place was clean. The front desk was friendly, but the waiter did not appear he wanted to be at work that night. The food wasn't that good to go back again any time soon. However, there is have an opportunity for the restaurant to get better. Bye Now

With so many options offering the same foods, Moe's is not one of my favorites. I went here with friends and the food was good, but I simply prefer Cafe Rio in Manassas. That said, there was nothing wrong with the food, it is probably exactly what you would expect from tacos, burritos, etc.The staff was friendly and despite a few tables needing cleaned off, the restaurant was clean.

La Parrilla

Arrive at the restaurant. Total chaos. No one is even present to greet people or seat them. Food is on the floor from prior diners. Finally a male appears and seats us. We sit for 20 minutes while wait staff walks past us. They don't even look at us. We see the male who seated us and call him over. He gets us chips and salsa, glasses of tap water and takes our order. We wait another 25 minutes (this was 45 minutes after being seated). No one ever comes back to our table. No one brings our order. Once again, wait staff walks past and will not even look at us. We put a few dollars on the table for the chips and glasses of tap water and leave the restaurant. We really should have paid more attention to the other Trip Advisor reviews. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! We will never return.
