I love this place! I won't say too much as 'gregoryo2013' has covered pretty much everything I'd say in the only other English review; it's titled 'Hidden Gem'. I'd suggest reading that too.The selection of tapas is incredible. When you order drinks, you'll be given a packet of crisps; the idea is that you choose tapas and pay for what you have. Most things are 1.50⬠and everything I've had tastes really good. You'd think Mini Hamburguesas is a mini-hamburger, nothing special, but Taberna El Callejon's is really delicious. I also love the Ãoquis con salsa de setas. And the Pollo Couscurry is great (and I'm not normally a fan of cous cous!). Depending on what you have, we've found that 3 or 4 tapas will fill you up for the equivalent of a nice lunch.The decor inside is lovely but there is also seating outside, which is expanded to cover a larger area during the summer.To find the restaurant, look for the police station (Guardia Civil Puesto de Maria) as it is around the corner from that. The short dead end street for the Taberna is opposite the old washhouse (Lavandaria) and open air sports ground which borders Parque Caramel.We have been here about 5 or so times during the past couple of years and have loved it on every occasion.

This cafeteria/restaurant was extensively refurbished earlier this year, (2016).The bar area is now bright & nicely decorated. Well thought out & varied menú, also a good selection of freshly "made to order" pizzas. Takeaway & delivery service available. Full English-style breakfasts & glass cabinet displaying a variety of tapas also available.Menús written in Spanish & English.Well stocked bar. Various coffees, a good choice of herbal teas/infusions & beverages available.Staff pleasant, polite & helpful. Depending on the member staff: Spanish, English & French spoken.Toilets fully tiled, clean, tidy, fresh smelling & fit for purpose.Nice sized upstairs restaurant area & location of ladies toilet.During warmer weather there is extensive outside seating/eating beneath large awnings & mature trees. Disabled/wheelchair friendly downstairs & outside.Wall mounted flatscreen TV's (1 permanently in the downstairs bar & 2 others mounted outside when that area is in use). Free WiFi available.Special occasions & celebrations catered for.This is a friendly & popular venue with locals, ex-pats & visitors.

This restaurant is situated in the main square in Velez Rubio, by the church. I have friends and family who are vegetarian and Martos has a brilliant selection of dishes for veggies. I especially like the aubergine with molasses (berenjenas con miel) and the mushrooms. However, the star is their solomio de cerdo (pork tenderloin) served with various sauces, I had cabrales (blue cheese) which was absolutely delicious. It gets busy during summer evenings, especially if you want to eat outside in the square.One of my favourite restaurants in the area.

Visited Ganimedes last year and again this year , watched both Champions league games as well as having 2 great meals, the waiter is a happy and friendly chap who works really hard to make sure you are looked after. Fantastic place , reasonably priced with a very varied menu . I will definately be coming again. me encanta la cocina de estre restaurante, todo lo que pides esta buenisimo y ademas a un precio que merece la pena ir y probar todo lo que hacen, hacen un bacalado gratinado que esta buenisimo, solo e estado un fin de semana en topares y lo pase integro en este bar, ponen unas tapas con las cerveza que te anima a seguir pidiendo, este verano volvere seguro

Restaurant is sitiated a few kilometers outside of velez blanco. It is situated within a large old mill that has been sensitively restored and decor is traditional rural andalucian. Food tends to follow the same theme. Lots of local produce used and quality ingredients. Charming owner. No menu del dia and prices are top end in area for lunch.

We have visited this restaurant many times and never been disappointed. It is rarely busy when we go, the service is first class and friendly and the food is of the highest quality. For the first time we were accompanied by my two vegetarian sister-in-laws and although the menu didn't have a lot of options, they were offered a wide choice of many things that chef could provide by the lovely lady who was looking after our table.The house wine (12â¬) was so good we actually bought a bottle to take home with us (10â¬)!!All in all a great success and we will definitely return with or without our vegetarians!
