Even though this restaurant is outside the charming old town of Rab, it is well worth visiting. The food was excellent, we all had steak and it was done to perfection with a delicious truffle sauce. Service was courteous and friendly and the house wine good. Highly recommended!

We had a tortilla, a pizza and a greek salad. Everything was good (nothing to be overwhelmed, but plain and good), the waiters were friendly and attentive. And the price was very acceptable. The shady terrace is great as well!

We came for a dinner because we have seen great reviews. We weren't disappointed, we were amazed. Fish spread for starter was delicious. We have ordered fish plate for 2, five kind of fish is more like fish plate for 4 people. Fish were perfectly cooked.

We visited Restaurant Gardens four years ago and chose to visit again as it had been an excellent experience. We both opted for the sea bass fillets; I had mangold as a side dish and my husband had fries. The fish was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, as were the side dishes. The house wine was above average and well priced. The service was great and the location is central in the old town. We would definitely recommend this restaurant above its more popular neighbours but, if you go at peak time, it may be worth reserving a table in advance as it is quite small.

There is something great in this place that you feel very comfortable. The view is great, the service is amazing, the food is fresh, simple and not very expensive. The menu is rather simple and don't expect anything fancy, but we were more than satisfied. Worth to go.

Went there for dinner last night. The location is very nice, the view across the bay towards old Rab is divine. The service was a bit hectic for our taste and many waiters looked stressed, although only the patio was full, inside barely 2 tables occupied. The grilled seafood platter is what everyone comes for and they do look good. But we were less impressed with our dishes: I had tuna carpaccio and shark, my husband boeuf stroganoff with rice. In the rice were chips of some sort (enamel coating from the pot?). The tuna carpaccio was ruined by heavy mayo dressing and the shark too salty.

The best meal we have had in Croatia, and excellent by any European standard.The Scallops and Goose Liver Panama Cotta were excellent and the Chicken and Fennel and Lamb Ribs were seasoned and cooked to perfection.The waiterâs recommendation of a local white wine complemented the dishes very well, and the service was excellent without being overbearing.Well done!

Nice and clean... very attentive waiters. The salmon was absolutely not good. And the beef was ok. The salad was nice and good. so if the salmon had been better we give higher ranking... i really hope the rest on the Island is much better

We spent 3 weeks on Rab Island and visited Velum through recommendation from friends. We ended up eating here 3 times. The staff is very friendly, and the owners wife is lovely! She recommended the desserts and they were all fantastic! The best Pavlova in Croatia, Probably the only one. As an Australian we had to have it!! If eating tuna steak, order rare!!

We went for a seafood dinner and were not disappointed the crab and fish soups were delicious, the fish were well prepared. Wine was good and staff was professional and friendly. The place itself is very authentic as well. Would come back - also to try the grilled meat.
