First time at this restaurant and fell in love with it. Service, wine list and food was fantastic. They bring bread and complimentry soup and we had ordered calimari which was good. We tried paella that was the best I've had in the US. So full we did not experience desert. Some on street parking and a well lit lot across the street for restaurant patrons.

Mompou Tapas Bar & Restaurant

Spanish Tapas Restaurant in the heart of the Ironbound. We have a full liquor license. We have one of the largest selections of vegetarian tapas in the neighborhood. Our Flamenco shows during the Fall and Spring season are a big hit. Our main entrees, yes

I visited this place for a flamenco show. The show was spectacular, the food absolutely delicious. I had the grilled octopus. I love the ambiance, the staff was very tentative. I will definitely go back

Spanish Sangria

Reviewed By buffylane

Was looking forward to an enjoyable dining experience with friends but was disappointed. The food is plentiful but rather bland for a Spanish/Portuguese restaurant. I had the paella which tasted identical to my husband's shrimp and rice. Our friends had steak and veal which was good. We shared a pitcher of sangria which was not very fruity or imaginative. Our waiter never returned to offer coffee and dessert. We were basically ignored after we received our entrees. Would not come back here when there are so many other good Portuguese restaurants in the city.

Found this place while killing time in Newark due to a cancelled flight. Choice of bread, plate or bowl servings. Beautifully cooked and fresh chicken, falafel, vegetables and sauces make this place a great place for lunch in or out. Refreshingly understated and busy as heck at lunch time but well worth it.
