Evanston (/ˈɛvənˌstən/) is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States, 12 miles (19 km) north of downtown Chicago, bordered by Chicago to the south, Skokie to the west, and Wilmette to the north. It had a population of 74,486 as of 2010. It is one of the North Shore communities that adjoin Lake Michigan and is the home of Northwestern University. The boundaries of the city of Evanston are coterminous with those of the former Evanston Township, which was dissolved in 2014 by voters with its functions being absorbed by the city of Evanston.

Top-notch balance of affordability, quality, expertise, accessibility. Nice walking neighborhood, open high-ceiling space with decent noise abatement (a personal plus), excellent and reasonably-priced wine list. Tapas menu is solid, diverse, but not overkill. Fresh prep, good cooking techniques. Postres as good as the frias i calientes. Top marks to the floor staff, especially senior waiter Juan (7pm 8/10/19), who was absolutely on-point: attentive, unpushy, capable of engaging individually and personably, made good and thoughtful recommendations. Floor staff, and Juan in particular, push the rating to a "5". Unmissable.

YASSOO, I was in the mood for a good platter of Gyros---I found it here. They offered the dinner platter with their fries. But it lacked seasoning of ted and white sauces...⦠I will return, I love gyros and shawarma food.

We held a special graduation party at Olive Mountain and we were treated like family. The food was bountiful and delicious. We started with hummus and falafel and there were plates up and down the table, then fresh, crisp salads with vinaigrette, and then chicken kebab -- trays just loaded with delicious chicken medallions on a bed of roasted carrots and potatoes. Plates of steaming yellow rice were served as well.The waiter said that their chef is Jordanian and I felt like I was in a restaurant downtown Amman. Our guests were wide-eyed at all the food and the convivial service. Just when I thought I was asking for too much, the waiter assured me he was ready if we needed anything else at all. It's really hard to put into words the value of that kind of service when we were entertaining family and out of town guests. I really can't thank Olive Mountain enough for making our celebration extra special. The best in Evanston.

OMG---I knew it would be great food when my family and entered the front door---the sights, smell, staff all brought my attention to digging into some Greek dishes I missed living in Asia.Our waiter was fabulous and help---the food, soooo good.We 'have been there every month since April----we love it.Maybe they should feed us a complimentary flaming Saganaki ??YUM
