The restaurant is only accessible by car, nicely decorated with friendly and competent service.The menu has nice choices, with emphasis on local specialties. If you don't like goat cheese, ask before ordering, to avoid dissapointment. Very nice wines, good advice from the waitress.

During our tour of Provence (6 adults and a baby) we had dinner at the Petit Ecole at the recommendation of our host. The place is small and unpretentious from the outside, but relaxed and romantic inside. The service was excellent and the waitress very helpful and polite despite our ignorance in French. The food itself was excellent, and we enjoyed all 3 courses. All 6 of us agreed this was one of the best restaurants we had been to in Provence.Tip: make a reservation ahead of time, as the restaurant fills up quickly.

You could walk past this unassuming frontage without realising that it contains a genuine taste of France at a knock down price. As we passed on our tour of Apt's huge market, we reserved a table for 12.30 - feeling a little foolish as it was empty - but it turned out to be very wise as it was full and turning people away at lunchtime. We had the meal of the day for E11.50, which simply offered a 'Provencal pizza' plus salad, dessert and coffee. The pizzas were simple but tasty and filled the plate. The separate big plate of salad was mainly lettuce (as normal in France, where 'salade' means 'lettuce') but it also included tomato and melon. Spray bottles of oil and balsamic allowed you to dress your own. The bottle of chilli oil for the pizzas was a nice touch, and was sweet rather than fiery.Dessert was another pleasure - I counted 7 to choose from, including ice cream, of which there were several varieties including pistachio. My apricot tart was a huge slice, but I couldn't resist eating it all. Our guest had the apple pie - also large and 'moorish'. Coffee was included: our guest drinks it with milk - often double the price in France, but not here. We appeared to be the only English people in the place, but the waitress was helpful and my basic French was more than sufficient.The toilets were also in good order - not always the case in France!We felt this was the best value meal of the fortnight, and especially good for a family with children on a budget.

We had dinner here and enjoyed it so much we went back a second evening. They have five or six daily suggestions which are very fresh and well prepared We had the fish both times and were very pleased( you can also order from the menu as well - either a three course plat du jour or a la carte. ). It was a nice mix of locals and tourists. The waitress/ owner can explain the menu in English and is very attentive. Donât skip dessert. Everything we tried was delicious as were the wine selections. ( we always like to drink local). We ate inside as the weather was chilly but on pleasant evenings there are several tables outside. We made a reservation for our second visit on a Saturday evening and Iâm glad we did. The restaurant was full and people without reservations had to be turned away. If youâre in Apt, this is a great place to try

A lovely village restaurant in Villars, slightly off the beaten track in Luberon. The clients seem to be regulars and I can understand why. The atmosphere is very homely, the cuisine uncomplicated but using good ingredients. Avoiding complication is a core piece of advice - I chose an enticing starter (mille feuille with shrimps and smoked salmon) which was a bit of a let down compared to the simple but delicious foie gras my better half chose in her infinite wisdom. I made it up though with the beef fillet in mustard sauce (her sea bream was excellent to). Overall, maybe it does not strictly deserve 5 stars but worth to be encouraged and the value is very decent indeed - so try it when you happen to be in the area.

From the moment you enter, you can tell you are in the presence of an artist - everything from the decor to the menus to the food is a creative experience. There are a lot of traditional elements in the cuisine (mostly French, but some pan-Mediterranean), but they are combined and elaborated upon in a quite artistic way. You could tell by the number of specials on the menu that this is a place where every dish is well considered (it was evident that several of the dishes made use of seasonal ingredients that insured produce and meats were very fresh). The cooking and ingredients are all of high quality, My wife and I both ordered a fois gras that was perfectly salted and cooked. Both of our entrees were excellent and the kind waitress was friendly and very helpful in finding something our baby could eat. The establishment was the high-point of our stay in Apt. I would revisit Apt only to return to this restaurant. Merci a la la propriétaire pour votre déterminé penchant artistique!Je n'ai pas tout compris mais j'ai l'impression que vous êtes satisfaits de votre passage à l'intramuros.
