I ate here with three friends on a Saturday evening. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was efficient but not rushed, with two lovely members of staff attending to us.Finding good vegan food in a mixed restaurant is difficult, however, Fenicia offered plenty of choice for vegans or vegetarians, as well as catering well for meat eaters. I decided to have three starter dishes as my meal. This worked out well and each was delicious. My friends had a starter and main course, all of them also enjoyed their food. The restaurant serves house red or white wine. My Lebanese red wine was good and very reasonably priced.With good food , service and a warm welcome, I'm sure that other diners will enjoy Fenicia.

We have been to Evuna Manchester on a number of occasions and loved the food. The problem has been the expensive car parking weâve had to pay and so we havenât been for some time. We were delighted to discover this one in Altrincham. A very cosy setting and the usual high standard of tapas. We shared chicken in a cream and paprika sauce, a very rich chorizo, aubergine topped with honey and pine nuts which was to die for and prawns cooked in olive oil, chilli and garlic. I enjoyed a chilled glass of white La Mancha wine. The service was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to a return visit. Thankyou so much ! We came because we'd never had Armenian food before...it didn't disappoint. We booked a table for two for a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago. Good job we did as the place was packed. It's very rustic in terms of the bits and bobs lying around...it was charming. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.We ordered the Goulash (lamb) and Mezalica (creamy chicken) and shared with some rice and bread on the side. The food was flavourful and clearly made with love and in an authentic manner. We followed our mains with Paklava...which I thought was going to be like filo baklava...it wasn't, but it was amazing! I might go as far to say that it was the best dessert I've had for years! It was not advertised as a sharing dessert, but I think it suited two people well and might be too much for one. We rounded our evening off with mint tea...very nice.We really enjoyed our visit and will go back the next time we're in the area.

We ate here on 02 June 2019, at lunchtime. The food was enjoyable and good quality as it had been on our previous visits (of which there have been several over the past few years) but our short visit yesterday was spoiled by the fact that we were rushed to pay up and leave at the end of the meal.We were in the restaurant for barely an hour, which we know because we picked my father up on the other side of Altrincham at just after 12.15, drove into the town, parked up and walked to the restaurant. We left Porta at just after 1.30. We had a selection of tapas, two glasses of sherry, a glass of wine and some water - the food arrived promptly with the exception of the croquetas which mysteriously didn't appear until everything else had been practically eaten.Around 1.20, our plates were cleared (including one that still had olives on it - I only learned this afterwards or I would've have asked for it to be left with us) and we were asked if we wanted anything else. We said no and that we'd take the bill. This too arrived promptly and we carried on finishing our drinks and chatting. A different server came over and looked at the plate with the bill on twice over the next ten minutes before stopping and saying (this is a quote): "Are you planning on paying the bill or are just going to sit around talking?" My partner pointed out that my elderly father still had almost half a glass of wine and the waitress walked off without saying anything. We put cash on the plate with the bill while my father speeded up drinking his wine, she returned and silently took the money away and then returned the change equally silently. No smiles, no "Thank you", no "I hope you enjoyed your meal" and certainly no apology for her rudeness.I could understand the rush to change tables around if the restaurant were busy but there were only two other tables occupied and two other front-of-house staff were stood chatting and laughing behind the bar for the whole duration of this sorry episode (around 10 to 15 minutes). So there should have been no issue with our finishing our drinks at our leisure.Frankly, the attitude towards us was disgraceful and there is clearly a need for some staff training here. Perhaps if this is the new standard of service at Porta it accounts for why the restaurant was more than half empty when the rest of Altrincham seemed so lively? Certainly we won't be returning.

Spent a lovely evening at this dainty Lebanese and Syrian restaurant. We didn't realise you could bring your own bottle which was a surprise as we will do that next time, just a quid for the corkage is all that's warranted.Nevertheless the drink prices ain't that bad when you consider we had a great evening or maybe I did as I was the one drinking.......Two bottles of Sancerre at £25.75 a bottle which were very nice indeed and to finish off with arak the Lebanese liquor which was £3.75. The food was delicious, my lamb fasoulieh came with green beans, onion, garlic, herbs in tomoto flavour sauce on a bed of rice priced at £12.95 which I would highly recommend, a mixed kebab at £13.95. We both succumbed to the beef borak and cheese and spinach hot meze starters priced a £4.95 & £5.95 which were reasonable values as portion sizes were big.The place was lovely and clean, had a great ambiance as we got chatting to diners on the adjacent table which inevitably made the evening fly by we must have spent just under 3 hours here Finally I got the opportunity to talk to the owner who discussed in depth about his family back in Syria which was a nice intellectual conversation.All in all a lovely evening at this dainty Lebanese restaurant and will definitely be back again when next in Altrincham.

An impromptu reservation for three at Da Noi was a pleasant surprise We arrived at about 9pm without a reservation on a Friday night to a busy an vibrant restaurant Atypical Italian trattoria with fresh pizza, pasta and fresh food all cooked to order My calzone was very good and washing it down with a 2016 Gavi was very pleasant Lovely staff with a knowledgeable and able mix of youth and age If we am ever in Altrincham again I will definitely return

If you want Middle Eastern food this is the best. Top top wonderful food and service. You can take your own booze and pay £1-2.00 corkage. Large portions and permanently fresh. Their quality never varies. I visited Sugo this evening with my 2 friends and after hearing several great reviews, we were really looking forward to eating here. We ordered: Arancino 2 x Strozzapreti with fresh mackerel, British squash, baby toms, rosemary, chilli, pangrattato Strozzapreti with broccolini, anchovy butter, house chicken stock, chilli, parmesan, pangrattato Cavolo nero, cannellini beans, chilli, garlic, pangr attato 5.5The Arancino was amazing and we couldnât fault it, the Cavolo Nero was ok, wouldnât order it again, but not completely awful. Then there was the Pasta! It had absolutely zero flavour and to say it was bland would be an understatement. We were truly disappointed with both dishes and ate just 2-3 spoonfuls each. We raised our opinions with the waitress who then sent over the manager who stated âpasta is what we doâ and was clearly in denial that the food could be so vile! He said he would take some money off the bill, he then brought it over with an offensive 10% discount - equating to £1.30 off each dish we had eaten 2 spoonfuls of! We were extremely disappointed with the experience and shocked that the manager could go no further to rectify this than giving us a measly 10% discount and writing a contact email on the back of the receipt.Definitely wouldnât recommend this place for Pasta and will not be visiting again.Hi Amy,We appreciate your feedback.As I explained on the night, when it comes to matters of taste it's always subjective and personal. There seems to be some confusion over your order as some of the dishes you've mentioned in your review aren't in sync with your friends other equally terrible review, that being said our team 'checked back' with you both to confirm the order and once the food was served and all was ok.What I actually said is that "We don't do bland" and I stand behind this 100% as not only do our chefs taste every dish before serving but the same dish cooked at the same time went to another table who loved it. There's a big difference between 'bland' and 'awful' and perhaps in hindsight collectively more time should have been spent choosing the right dishes for your personal palette/s.In regards to the discount, nothing was said to your waitress when she 'checked back' on your food which gave us no time to rectify any issues. At the very least it would have been helpful to raise your concerns as ultimately we want you to walk away full up and satisfied. I gave you a goodwill discount of 10% off your total bill not just the dishes you weren't happy with. We also agreed for you to pay under protest and explained that we could take the issue further as we had reached a stalemate on the night.When all is said and done I genuinely don't believe there was anything wrong with your food but I'd definitely encourage you in the future to seek advice from passionate and professional staff who are happy to help, guide and recommend.RegardsJay SmithDuty Manager
