Discover Restaurants offering the best Latin food in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is perhaps best known for its famous breweries and the Major League Brewers, but there's more to the city than beer and baseball. Milwaukee is rich in historical and cultural attractions, making it the perfect place for a weekend of exploring. Check out the newly expanded Milwaukee Art Museum or the Mitchell Park Horticultural Society, which hosts an annual show of the same flora and fauna seen in Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. Those interested in the city's history can visit the grand Pabst Mansion, former home of one of the city's famous beer barons, or the Milwaukee Public Museum, to see what life was like in Old Milwaukee. If the kids are along, don't miss the Milwaukee County Zoo or the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. Of course a trip to the "Genuine American City" would not be complete without a tour of the Miller Brewing Company and a Brewers game at Miller Park.

Three of us went here for lunch and we were very impressed with the tasty empanadas! We tried three different kinds, the chicken pesto, the cuban and mushroom truffle. All of them were fantastic! Great flavor, not no thick of crust and just the right amount of filling. We had the skinny fries with them and the jicama salad. Excellent! Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We tried one of the dessert empanadas, the ricotta and lemon zest empanada and that was also very good. I would definitely come back here and highly recommend it!

Locally sourced Mexican dining in the heart of Riverwest. We support local farmers through Braise RSA, and offer a selection of vegan-friendly and gluten-free dishes.
Umm what to say... this is someoneâs healthy version of all of your favorite Mexican dishes... really I found the food to be bland. They missed the mark on everything we ordered, 4 separate dishes plus 1 appetizer. I would give it another shot because of all the reviews that Iâve read however it would have to be on someone elseâs dime. I feel like maybe they had an off day. I enjoyed the location and the look/decor/style. The drinks were okay. But really would not be on my list of to go based on the one and only visit.

Had another great meal at Cubanitas last night. Meals were prepared well, tasted great, and the wine was good. We had what appeared to be a relatively inexperienced server, which didn't bother us. However, at the end of our meal, the young server spilled my wife's glass of wine into her lap (it was clearly accidental). My problem is: a quality manager should have noticed when a young server was bringing multiple towels, one wet down with club soda to a table, and gone to investigate. In the end we received several apologies from the server only, no offer to help with any cleaning bills, and the worst part was, no offer to remove the spilled glass of wine from our bill.

I was at this restaurant a year ago and gave it a better review then. They had a roasted veggie & kale taco then that was very good, but this time it was not on the menu. It was replaced with a cauliflower taco that was terrible. The soy choriso taco was also terrible (way too salty and I'm a salt lover). In my review a year ago I said: "I do not understand why a restaurant with such an extensive menu can't also have vegan burritos, fajitas, tostatas, salads or other main dishes. I would suggest that management consider some vegan sour cream and adding a few additional vegan mains. " Nothing has changed. Still too few vegan options. I did not enjoy my meal, BUT the complimenary chips and dipping sauces WERE VERY GOOD. The view of the river on the patio was relaxing. I would love to go back for the atmosphere and location, but the marginal vegan food is a deal breaker.

I have lived here for several years, but have never tried La Merenda. It was on the top of my todo list. We tried tonight and it was delicious. A few favorites were the Chimichurri and Steak, the Risotto and the Blackberry Old Fashioned. The shrimp dumplings are just too spicy for our table. And for dessert, you cannot go wrong with the Creme Brulee! Great spot to sit outside, around a table and visit with friend-while getting served delicious food!
