We were in Miyagi to celebrate our son's wedding at the Takekoma Shrine in Iwanuma. Our son had made arrangements for our stay at the Harada Hotel. The hotel sits 1 block from this stunning Inari shrine. We were kindly placed in one of the upper floors and overlooking the shrine. We could see the tori gate from our room window. We had one of the smaller rooms with a queen sized bed. While small by western standards, I am always amazed and delighted by the efficiency in size of the Japan style hotel rooms. I never felt squished even though we had 5 suitcases sharing the space with us. The room and bath were immaculate. The costs was super affordable allowing us to allocate the better portion of our funds to travel around beautiful Miyagi. The Harada is within easy walking distance to several Family Mart convenience stores and the local train station and a quick train ride to Sendai. I highly recommend this wonderful local hotel.

For lunch for the money this is an excellent choice. The quality of food and the great service makes this a haven in my busy day. Sorry, already ate two sushi before I took the picture. Just couldnât wait!
