We heard great things about Bernardis and decided to try them for dinner. The parking area had many cars, so that is a good sign and a good first impression. We were seated promptly. Very basic italian menu, so easy to find something to eat. Nice bar menu with a good selections drinks as well as draft beer. (bud light, sam adams octoberfest, blue moon, an IPA & domaine dupage by two brothers)Took a little while to get waited on, served dried out bread with some butter. Luckily there was some olive oil and parmesan cheese on the table to make it palatable. My suggestion would be to serve no bread at all rather than put the dried out bread that we had on the table. Our waitress was a very nice lady, great personality and friendly. Ordered a drink from the bar that never came, our water glasses spent more time empty than they did full. Food quality was average at best. Side salads were lettuce, with half a cherry tomato and the tiniest ever baby carrot. Mashed potatoes were very good. Nothing impressive for all the restaurants they have and the reputation they have. Portion sizes are generous. There were multiple bussers that seemed to be rather bored, and NONE OF OUR DISHES WERE REMOVED FROM THE TABLE. Took a very long time to get our check, so there we sit, not a single dish was removed the whole evening, water glasses empty, and we are trying to get our check. They must be doing something right, because restaurant was full and the bar was almost full by the time we received our check, paid at the counter and departed. Close to home, but will not bother coming here a second time.

Monical's Pizza

We grabbed a perfectly cooked thin crust pizza on Saturday and it was as goid as it always has been. Service was spotty with a long delay on getting a beer due to an underage server. The pie made up for it however with a crisp crust with just the right amount of burned cheese and crust along the edge.

Michaels has several locations throughout the area. Washington, Eureka, and Germantown Hills. It is very good food from Subs to pasta dishes there is something for everyone. My favorites are the Alfredo pasta with chicken , the grilled cheese, and definitely their cinnamon bread. There are many other options and all are good. Whether you take out or eat in the staff is very friendly, the stores are clean, and no one goes away hungry. Strongly recommend

Papa John's Pizza

I was thrilled when Papa John's moved into the Sunnyland Plaza, but have been disappointed. We live just down the street and the delivery boy got lost the first time and the pizza was cold. My son knew him and didn't want me to complain, so I didn't. The 2nd order came without part of our order. The delivery boy brought it to us, but we were already done with the pizza by then. The third order came without the sauces we paid extra for. Strike three. I called the manager this time and didn't receive an apology. He said he'd credit the $1 or whatever it was to our order. The price wasn't the point, the service was. With Domino's the same distance away and cheaper, it's hard to choose Papa John's. I love the pizza, but service is going to kill them.
