Lunch today at Carmen's Italian Restaurant at Tamworth. What a priceless find, this will now become our MOST favourite restaurant in Tamworth.Delicious main course of barrumundi, beautifully cooked with a generous serving of a very tasty salad and freshly cooked fries.Dessert was so tasty, the chocolate was real, and the gelators were the best since we were in Italy. My dessert was Lemon Myrtle with shards of pavlova and a delicious ice cream, just so delicious and refreshing.A beautiful setting with beautiful Lavender in full flower, a lovely fountain and Wisteria all overlooking the countryside nearby.Will certainly be returning here, the service was prompt and friendly with a lovely ambience.

We went here for dinner when we stayed at the motel.This is a lovely little restaurant, nice atmosphere. The tables aren't too close together, which is really good and some are tucked away in little alcoves which is really nice.Service was great, the girls were very attentive. Drinks and orders taken quickly and food came out quickly.We had arancini balls for entree, ok but not the best i have ever had. Main was chicken with mushrooms and polenta. Didn't really like the polenta but the rest was very nice. And my partner loved his middle eastern lamb dish.

From out of town ... had trouble finding the store for pick up ... Quick phone call ... friendly staff pointed me in the right direction.One of the best pizzas ever ... tasty ... cheesy crust was way better than your other stores. Ingredients seemed tastier too ... whatever you're doung ... keep doing it!

The dining room is bright and welcoming, and staff friendly and helpful. The problems are in the kitchen. Of the dishes we had, the tagliatelle with scallops and prawns, and the steak were quite good. However, the bruschetta was served on barely warm, soggy bread, and the grossly over cooked vegetables, served with steak were simply awful. Also we could not contemplate what kind of chef would serve pasta (a carbohydrate) with soggy and inedible garlic bread (another carbohydrate). It made no sense, and detracted, rather than added to the pasta. Some small tweaks in the kitchen to address these downsides could turn this into a very attractive restaurant. And lest readers think that we were overly picky, on the night we were there, two of the other three occupied tables sent dishes back because of problems. We do hope that some adjustments are made, as we would like to write a quite different review next time we travel to Tamworth. Prices are generally quite reasonable.

Had better and had worse, definitely better than the mainstream cardboard pizzas but not quite what I thought it would be. Had glowing write ups in the local paper. Garlic bread was very ordinary, it was a freebie, so maybe that would explain it. Pizza was made on time, staff friendly but the "large" size was not that big and toppings very light on.
