It is located on the north-east shore of Lake Arenal. The former village of Arenal near the La Fortuna area was inundated in 1978 with the formation of the artificial Lake Arenal. Nuevo Arenal was a government project to relocate the displaced people. Nuevo Arenal is located about a one-hour drive northwest from the original village along a beautiful paved lakeside road that goes from La Fortuna to Tilaran.

We tired this place based off the previous reviews. Other than the sign out front it would be easy to miss. Great, friendly service and we took away a large cheese and large pepperoni pizza. Easily fed a family of 5 with left overs. All family members gave good reviews. The pizza crust was a little thicker than most of the pizzas we have tried which was a nice change. Great job.

We went here for dinner one night since it was recommended be a few of our friends that live in the area. Our experience was not the best for dining in the area. I ordered the pasta with walnut . It was so salty I cound not eat it. My wife order a rice dish and the rice was undercooked and crunchy. Even though I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waiter he either didn't understand or didn't care.

We video taped 8-10 toucans here at the restaurant during lunchtime, and so many other birds! Was the most amazing place to watch birds in Nuevo Arenal. They have a restaurant that serves delicious food and has such a gorgeous view. Also, there are hotel rooms in the base of the building. They are simple and quaint, colorful but the view and animals and birds are what make it so awesome!! The man who owns it is an amazing person. Worth the trip!!!!!

The view is fabulous - the restaurant is well located on a knoll overlooking the lake with sweeping views...and benefiting from a cooling breeze. The service personnel are attentive and provide good suggestion as to what meals to try. Our family ate here several times over the course of a week and tried nearly everything on the menu - all was good.

The food was so good and very high quality ingredients! They really go the extra mile with their presentation as well! I ordered the Mountain Man salad which had grilled eggplant and zucchini. It was cooked to perfection! My husband had a pizza which was also delicious. I love the little dishes they bring to accompany every meal. They include homemade pesto, Parmesan cheese and homemade hot sauce (hot), all delicious! Connie provided great service and spoke English very well! We highly recommend Moya’s!
