Lukla is the place where you have to travel twice in Everest trek and after landing lukla phakding is the place to stay over night which is 3 hrs walk. We came here after our trek. The cookies cakes and the coffee are very tasteful. The service is amazing. So our mountain guide organizes a really suprise with a wonderful birthday cake!!!! Thank you so much!!! The athmosphere is lazy. You can relax with Wifi and/or TV.The toilets are clean.

The Gokyo Guest House is a great stop on your Everest Region Journey. The food is great and the tomato pizza is a terrific meal to break the monotony of traditional tea house dishes. Rooms are characteristically spartan but clean and well crafted with smooth locking doors vs the loud locking ones found in other tea houses that wake you up in the night as other trekkers move about. Bathrooms were also relatively clean vs others in the region. But the greatest part is the staff. The owner of the tea house may have literally saved my life. I was unknowingly suffering from altitude sickness with depleted blood oxygen levels. Â The owner recognized the symptoms my guide did not and tested my oxygen levels with his own equipment. The results indicated a likely need to evacuate but my guide suggested descending on foot, not the safest method for me particularly suffering knee pain from IT band syndrome. Â I didn't want to leave but after the diamox medication was ineffective and my blood oxygen levels fell to 59 I was left with little choice the following morning. The owner was able to quickly summon a helicopter and within 30 minutes my feet were on the ground at a safer altitude. Altitude sickness is no joke, upon reaching the hospital in Kathmandu there were many cases and a day later someone died in transit to safe altitude. Given such risk, it's important to surround yourself with smart caring people who can recognize symptoms and take corrective action. I clearly made a poor choice with the guide service I hired but through providence, I found my way to the Gokyo Guest House and ultimately to safety. You should too.

This lodge is really recommended for everything, a bit more quiet as compared to the lodges directly in the center of Namche, good food (breakfast and dinner), clean and comfortable rooms including private bathroom and shower with an excellent view, a nice Bar & Grill where to spend the evening and last but not least an impeccable service provided by Tenzing the owner of the lodge. This service really made this stay special to us, he talked to us a lot about running the lodge, life in Nepal and Namche and also gave us contact details of his brother working in Everest Base Camp whom we could contact (once we got there) and who would provide us with some first-hand information and a coffee (and indeed his brother proved to be just as friendly as Tenzing).Five stars well deserved.Thank u very much for ur words . Hope to see u in near future again .

Everest Burger and Steak House in Namche is best in whole Everest region, cheap, clean and friend staff very friendly environmental where i found like in my home, so please any people went trekking to Everest region then do not hesitation there and have taste food.
