Great tapa place. Excellent charcuterie, pizza and pasta. Entree dish choices are limited but usually good. Make reservations, gets busy on weekends. Really worth a try if you are tired of Asian food in San Mateo.

We found this cozy little Italian restaurant near the airport. They made a great martini. The grilled halibut was perfect with a light lemon sauce. My sister said it was better than any place in San Francisco. The chicken Marsala with a thin slice of eggplant and mozzarella was great too. The service was very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our experience. Easy parking on the street too. Enjoy!

The ordering as you enter and then getting the food is little awkward, but the items on display before ordering make it easy choices.Choice of wine makes it marginal.The pizza, and we had three types were all very good. The olive dish and the salad are a must.A new category of pizzeria. Excellent outside seating as well.

A very good place for civilised pizza. The salad are very good as well. We we're a large group and various pizza we're ordered, all we're delicious.The seating, tables and the atmosphere is not pleasing, the combination of colors are actually bad.Go for a civilised pizza dinner.

A welcoming atmosphere. Staff very friendly while maintains a professional demeanor. My water glass wasKept filled without my even being aware of the service. Customers were in all levels of dress. Food was excellent, tasty and perfectly prepared. I had a skirt steak medium rare and it actually was cooked exactly right. The eat was extremely tender. Vegetables were perfect. The beet salad was delicious. A nice touch was slicing some small beets and then putting them back together with a smooth cheese. My friend had the hen and raved about it. Parking is a bit of a challenge in the area but we did find a space only two blocks away. Donât need to feed the meters after six on weeknights.

This place is just right for an Italian dishes. The location is convenient, the welcoming is apparently sincere.The menu is complete, the wine list is marginal. The starters are a must. Then the main will complete the dining.The staff are real, little rough on the edges, but the owner presence makes up.For no fuss italian food, the best in the area.

I feel bad reviewing this place as average but itâs the honest experience that I had. On one hand, the staff was great and really were attentive to the entire group (visited with several friends). The water glasses were filled regularly and they followed up when our alcohol selections were getting low. On the other hand, the food was inconsistent at best. The salad that I ordered, the Rocca Italian, was nothing more than a grocery store bagged salad put onto my plate with a very pedestrian dressing. The main dish, Salmon, was charred appropriately but was completely over done and dry. The desert, Creme Brûlée, was the saving grace here and was expertly prepared. To say that it was inconsistent is perfectly appropriate but i do wish I could rate it higher because of the serving staff.The ambiance is nice, high ceilings and decor that screams âItalyâ so itâs ok in that regard. I probably wouldnât come back but if I did, I would try another dish in the hopes it hit the mark. Overall it really was just an average visit and as I expected more it did slightly disappoint.

I met a friend for lunch here and was very impressed with the service, food and decor. Light just pours in the windows, and the menu offers something for everyone. Nothing like great Italian food with exceptional service. Even the bartender was very nice in getting my quarters for parking.

Located in a very nice, upper middle class, downtown suburban neighborhood. The restaurant has high ceilings, with a very nice and welcoming staff. Got good service from our server. The appetizer and the Margherita pizza we ordered were both better than average. We had a very nice weekend experience overall.

Gnocchi starter was great. Sage sauce and garlic was delicious. Had the pear ravioli which was very good. Wish there was more. Salad was a solid effort. Desert of affogato was fantastic. Others had the chicken parm, awesome and the veal. All enjoyed. Skimpy chicken portions but great flavors. Service was good despite a full house.
