Aalter (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈaːltər]) is a municipality located between Bruges and Ghent in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Aalter, Bellem, Lotenhulle and Poeke. It is bordered on the north by Knesselare, on the east by Zomergem and Nevele, on the south by Deinze, and on the west by the province of West Flanders. On January 1, 2007, Aalter had a total population of 18,887. The total area is 81.92 km² which gives a population density of 231 inhabitants per km². The mayor is Pieter De Crem.

Kaart is helemaal anders dan enkele maanden geleden.Ook het eten is niet te vergelijken met toen. Het eten was lauw, tagliatelle met scampi, was zeker zijn prijs niet waard, de salade geitenkaas was wat sla, enkele kleine schijfjes geitenkaas en croutons uit een zakje......Dit hoorde niet bij het 2 gangenmenu maar werd wel als zodanig afgerekend en spijtig genoeg zag ik dat pas bij thuiskomst. Het dessert, dame blanche was wel mooi gepresenteerd en wel lekker, prijs ok, maar dit weegt niet op tegen de rest. Wij gaan hier niet meer naar toe!

This restaurant did the job but not much else. The tables were occupied by locals which is a good sign and service was prompt without being particularly friendly. The atmosphere is rather subdued unlike mist successful Italian restaurants. Canapés are served but requests for tap water were refused. The pizzas were OK but nothing to write home about. They are thin base and the 4 seasons has boiled egg on top which is a bit incongruous. At least an amaretto liquor was offered after the meal for free. I would not rush to return.
