This is a cozy little shop tucked away in a back alley of downtown Shimonita. Their specialty is Tanmen ramen and handmade gyoza. Tanmen is a shio-based ramen topped with a lot of vegetables mixed with meat. The noodles were really thick. The gyoza were handmade by the owner as we sat and watched him and boy were they delicious. The owners of the shop are an older couple that appear to be at least in their 70's if not older and this shop has been around for many years. They also sell different types of ramen as well as other foods like tonkatsu. Last year the Japanese celebrity Bananaman visited this shop and it gained a little notoriety. I would definitely suggest a visit if you happen to find yourself in Shimonita, it's quite good and a very local and down to earth atmosphere. It's all Japanese though, so you will have to know how to read and order.
