A few hours at this beach club were included in our hotels van trip to Trancoso. It was fun to have a few drinks and buy some hats and jewelry from the vendors that walk along the beach (and right up into the restaurant as well). Don't put your things on the sand though, the high tide comes in VERY fast all of a sudden and washed many things away. Friendly waiters, clean bathrooms, good snack food.

We had grilled white fish, bottle of Rose wine for lunch Looking over a quite and peaceful beach. Service was good, but it wasnt very busy as we were there in October before its get busy in Brazil. A nice beachside restaurant would go back.

We tried the "bife de chorizo" with fries for each one. Wonderful! Simple and perfect cooked. Juicy! We came back three nights again! And the best part: the price! The lowest price at the "Quadrado". They have other choices but we didn't wanted try. Why change what was so perfect?

A must. Here we got our freshly made juices every day. Fantastic service, one of the few bars open for breakfast (or for getting your juices early in the morning, if you stay on Quadrado as we did). Do visit this place!Thanks Lieven, all the staff at TCB enjoyed meeting and serving you. Obrigado

If you don't want to spend crazy amount of money to stay in this hotel, make sure you at least pay its restaurant a visit for lunch. As a restaurant guest you get to use their beach facility for a few hours. The beach here is probably the most beautiful beach part of Trancoso. You have to take a walk between the hotel and Rio Barra Praia. We even got to ride a horse in front of the hotel on the beach. Fantastic photo moments, 50 reias for a ride 20-30 mins on the horse. The horse owner speaks only Portuguese but is extremely nice. He will spend additional time taking many pictures for you and he takes great pics. The restaurant serves very good food and drinks and the price is similar to the ones on quadrado. This is a secret I got from a local Brazilian and I am sharing it with you because we had our best time in Trancoso here on the beach with great service, nice music and excellent food.

The setting, ambiance and potential are all great. The vibe, chilled music and atmosphere, perfect.That is until the owners decide to put cash and earnings before a guest experience for dinner. The open kitchen simply does not have capacity for more than 10 tables at night, 15 at a push. Last night, even though we had to pay for the reservation with a deposit a month before, they had at least 30 tables. Most of them, including us had a terrible experience. Waiting, waiting, being told 10 minutes etc.. The poor waiting and kitchen staff had no chance and they deserve a medal for being so polite in the wrath of poor customer comments. The Manager, out of his depth, sweating due to so much running around and simply ineffective and no control. When our food, for a party of 4 came... Only two plates were served, then two minutes later another and then the final one. Of the four a medium-rare meat was raw; the pasta was cold, the other pasta dry and uneatable and the fourth dish 'eatable'! All three were returned and we asked for no replacements!I am sure when Trancoso is not busy this place has potential. If you are in Trancoso now, avoid at all costs. If you are coming and want to eat here, make sure it is out of season!

Nice, trendy place, close to the quadrado. The decor is tasteful, the service is good but the food was quite disappointing. The pizza was cheesy, brazilian/american style, on a weird thin crust; sort of Domino's on a "pastel" dough. Salades were also pretty banal. Awfully expensive for the quality.

We stayed at Uxua and dined at the restaurant one night, and then also did a cooking class to learn how to make (and then dined on) the moqueca a different night. Food was excellent - in particular the prawns in spice was delicious, as was the ceviche. And the moqueca was very good - also a lot of good so definitely recommend sharing. Atmosphere is beautiful - sat outside looking upon the quadrango under the lanterns of a big tree with local musicians playing live music. Service is attentive and speaks English well. Highly recommend!
