Over 12 years, we have been visiting ShigaKogen and each time we try to find a sunny day and ski over from Okushiga Kogen to Sun Valley and Greens for lunch.The restaurant can be found at the very beginning of the skiable linked area and is also easily accessed by the bus and shuttle bus as it stops right outside.Food is fresh, tasty and very well priced. The service and welcome is no 1. Lunch for 3 with 1 beer around 3500 jpy. The crab croquette set is fantastic and their salad for 500jpy is excellent. Highly recommend. You can work off the calories getting back to the main part of shiga Kogen as the small rope tow linking Maruike to Giant was taken out a few years back and there is a good 200m uphill skate or walk, unless you time your lunch to catch the shuttle bus back to Ichinose/Takamagahara.One year on a warm day we even saw a large family group of snow monkeys.

We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant located near the station and Lawson. If you like garlic, my husband had the garlic ramen. They have traditional Japanese set menus and many side items. The traditional Japanese tables with tatami was great for our family. The owner was very kind to our toddler and gave her a little chair to sit on.English menu. Smoking. Local Beer.

Our family stopped here for lunch. (Lunch hours: 11am-3pm)Inside it looks dirty, but the food is good. They have udon, ramen and rice dishes like Katsu-don. They have translated one menu into English which is helpful. Each dish was around (or slightly under) ¥1,000. We parallel parked our van out front.
