This restaurant has an unbelievable varanda with an amazing view. Me and my boyfriend sat there for some coffe and drinks. Not so pricy, and the jabuticaba liquor was very good! Going back for dinner soon!

The place is one of the few all-you-can-eat buffet in Ouro Preto. Price for dinner was 20 Rs plus beverage. Food was reasonable and traveler friendly but somewhat overcooked with little variety mostly emphasizing abundance. There is nothing wrong with the place but it is not really delicious or otherwise inspirational. Seems very popular with local folks though.

In an old building, beautifully restored, there is this café and a book store on one level and Tourisi Information on the other level, where there are always some art exhibition. Going there to see is nive enough, worth going there, but if you want to rest, and eat, it is a very good choice, close (real close) too many ot the mais attractions in the historical center of Ouro Preto. Old parts of the original construction have been maintained, and the decoration is just perfect. The service was also excellent, but really so!

Some friends and I ate dinner here on our last night in Ouro Preto. The building is wonderful - steep steps down to the restaurant in the bowels of the earth. Like most of the Brazilian restaurants I was taken to, this was another one serving excellent food and wine and is definitely, another restaurant I would like to return to one day.

Off the main Conde de Bobadela street is this charming little café with lovely decoration, especially of basketry, which is also for sale here. A young man was playing the guitar and singing.It felt good to sit here after dinner. I had a dessert, a 'Torta Alemã Brigadeiro' with lots of chocolate and cream, something the Germans would call a 'Kalorienbombe'. With it I ordered a 'Cachaça envelhecida' from Minas Gerais, which had aged in an oak barrel, thus the golden color. It was served in a small caraffe. Pleasant was also the espresso from the company 'Villa Café' in Belo Horizonte.For the music, as is often the case in Brazil, one gets charged a 'Couvert Artistico' of BRL 5.

We chose this restaurant, a block away from our hotel, for dinner our only night in Ouro Preto. We sat by a window and had a splendid view of the hills and city. The soft Brazilian music in the background added to the great indoor atmosphere. Our waiter was excellent and even was able to give us the typical Brazilian dish of the region (feijao tropeira) which normally they only serve at lunchtime. This was a very tasty dish. It was a great introduction to Brazilian food our first night in Brazil

I went there four times while in Ouro Preto, and was impressed with everything we had to eat there. Great wine by the glass, too! (a wonderful cabernet) The staff is beyond friendly, and the patio area is a special treat.I can assure you will be delighted with your dinner or lunch at O Passo!
