Centrally located near ST. Anne's Church, this is a great place to experience traditional Latvian cuisine. We visited Liepaja yesterday and this restaurant came highly recommended by the owners of the B&B where we stayed. The food was both excellent and reasonably priced. There were 5 in our party with all of us having full course meals and were pleasantly surprised to end up with a final bill of 38 Euros!!!

It is a factory canteen renovated, quite nicely. Do not expect posh restaurant food. If you want to try what an average local person eats for lunch then this the right place. We ordered several meals for the family, all of them was great.

We are staying at the Libava Hotel and its restaurant, Zivju, was an incredible surprise. There were 3 of us and we all ate different things - the herring appetizer with chopped quail eggs and beetroot was absolutely amazing. Pork steak with roasted potatoes, carrots, onions, and a special orange, slightly curried sauce was superb. My vegetarian meal of risotto with locust chips (never heard of them before but they were excellent) was again terrific. The meringue dessert was delicious. The combination of very original combination of meat, herbs, unusual vegetables, etc. takes this restaurant ouf of the norm and into the top, top tier of food. AND it was quite reasonable. We recommend it very highly. Also, our delightful, friendly waitress made it a highly personable experience.

Came here by accident, you can have quick and cheap lunch, but have no idea how you can order if you donât know latvian- the menu on the wall is latvian only. The lady behind the counter is not very talkative, nor too happy about your visit, but the food is cheap and quite tasty. If you want some time travel - take dessert - those metal cups are definately from soviet times :))

We enjoyed our set menu at Eur15 pp. Starters were delicious â wife had pumpkin soup with black truffle oil and I had a cheese, beetroot salad. Mains, the lady had fish croquettes and I the beef cheek with mash. Dessert consisted of hazelnut and almond tart and I had panna cotta. The starters were both beautiful, mains were good though could be worked on a little â my wife found the fish to not taste, well, fishy and had a strange consistency, and my beef cheek could have done with a couple tablespoons of gravy as it was a little dry though the cheek itself was beautifully succulent. My panna cotta tasted more of cream so that needs a little work â I appreciate theyâre not the easiest to make due to setting time but if thatâs an issue then perhaps look to offer something else such as cheesecake, a slice of black forest gateau etc.As others have mentioned, service was a little slow though the waitress was professional, friendly and spoke good English. We could see the two waitresses were run off the feet and didnât stop. However, one thing that niggled us slightly was that despite not having a reservation, we were only offered one table which wasnât exactly to our liking since it was right next to the bar. We arrived just before 6pm on a Saturday but during the two hours we were there, the restaurant was never more than 60% occupied, and the tables by the window we would have liked to sit at had two tables empty whilst we were dining there. Guess itâs a moot point for some but niggled us a little.Overall though, the points Iâve raised are minor and we enjoyed our meal and drinks. Would defo recommend and weâd be back in a flash.

Dear All, This was not my first attendance here. Already attended this place last year in Jan-2017. Nice restaurant on the southern outskirts of Liepaja. Located in the Baata mall. Easy access and free parking. Nice, clean and tidy. Visible open kitchen and Galley, and no fumes or exhaust smell ascertained. Exhaust Air Vents working very well. Attending crew and quite extended menu card. Prompt service at the time we attended.All type of food can be served from cold and starters, various pasta dishes and numerous salads, hot meals fish and/or meat and obviously sweets and desserts too.Vegan's and Veg's have also a variety of possibilities too here on the Menu.At this place, they serve the famous Liepaja Mencini too. Really special and typical food of old medieval Baltic fishermen.They have also a quite extended sushi menu too. Really a place to be recommended.Success to you All at Olive's Restaurant and Brgds PJT

A very good white tablecloth restaurant with great atmosphere.The foods were delicious and really exceeded our expectations, and service was perfect.Onion soup with red wine was perfect and halibut with grilled vegetables was fingerlicking good. Definitely recommended!
