We have just had dinner in that restaurant. The service was really terrible. The waiter didn’t know which wines where available and then only three or four where available in a list of about twenty wines. When we finished our main course the waiter was in a great hurry and didn’t come to our table for a long while. When we called him to order our dessert he told us that the kitchen was closed. It was 21.30 and in the website resulted opened till 22.00. The bill was quite expensive.

I stopped here on a stroll up Av Arce and found this impeccable gem. Beautifully appointed tables and excellent staff greeted me and made a very favorable impression. A great wine list featuring mostly South American wines made it hard to decide, and an equally extensive menu tempted me with various offerings from steak to pasta to seafood. I had an excellent onion soup and a huge but alas only so-so lasagne. I bet they do great with steaks and seafood, and I highly recommend this fine restaurant!

I would say, the cafe looks like many in Europe but there are a few places like that in Bolivia. Alpaca wool fibers are used as decoration, looks unusual. Table games, a few books, playing reggae. Breakfast for 25 Bs, you can create your own breakfast / salad / sandwich. I guess, Europeans / Americans would like it. Different types of coffee and tea (more than 10 types), coffee with different alcohol spirits 25 Bs, Juices, smoothies, empanadas, snacks to share. Bolivian craft beers 22-24 Bs and local wines (12Bs glass or 40-65 Bs. for a bottle). It is also convenient for those, who want to kill time because everything is cooked very slowly. I guess, we spent in Chukuta more than 1.5 hours... and everything could have been done in 30 min. Moreover, there were not so many people waiting for their orders.Thank you for you review and being so clear and detailed. We try to make everything as fresh as possible and maybe we took too much time trying this goal. We will improve our food preparation process. Thanks for your opinion.

Arrived after 18.00, the place was still completely dark. Staff were hanging around like they were in a coma. Got a table with an ashtray, hello, this is 2019. Nobody was able to utter an understandable succession of 5 words in English. The menu looked like part of it was cooked in some mysterious broth. Probably the first time in over 10 years that I have left a restaurant without ordering anything at all.Dear DISGUSTED customer: I want to thank you for your opinion. It clearly shows that TRIPADVISOR is loosing its credibility by publishing your disgusting commentary. To the facts: 1. There is a sign at the entrance indicating that the restaurant is open from 6:30 pm on – you showed up at 6:00. The service staff was setting up the dining room and getting ready for their evening shift. Nothing wrong if the waiters take it easy before the restaurant is open to the public2. You never entered the dining room – you were seated at a table in the bar of VIENNA where customers may smoke if the like. There is NO SMOKING in the dining room.3. You were never given the Dinner Menu – you got the menu for Aperitifs.4. You – coming to Bolivia from a First World Country should be the person who communicates in Spanish and not expect from a Bolivian waiter to speak English. Most of them – because of social reasons only go to school for 4 years. VIENNA is in business for 28 years and never received such an offensive y vulgar opinion which is not based on truthful facts at all.Anyway – nevertheless it shows the TRIPADVISOR is now publishing even insults which have no foundation at all. I hope you had a great time in La Paz. Paul Stach

They need a good review of their menu.. falafels do not originate from “Israel”. “Israel” doesn’t have an actual cuisine. Everyone knows that falafel is Lebanese.. so the fact that their falafel option is called “El Tel Aviv” just shows that they’re trying to draw in Israeli travellers, as it seems that the area attracts. Hey MaryE320, You say we need a good review of our menu. If you would have read the text in our menu, maybe you would have understood it better. When we create new dishes, we talk and learn from people from all over the planet and we make the dishes together in our kitchen. Its an amazing part of our job, to cook with people from all over the world!  We have never said that falafel originally is from Israel. The idea of the Tel Aviv plate came after a lot of conversations about food with Israelian travelers. What food they miss from home, what flavours they love and what food they prefere to compare with family and friends. After listening to a lot of stories we created the dish together in our kitchen. Thats why it felt natural to call it El Tel Aviv. Without any political or historical reflection. Its a really good plate right?! We are glad you enjoyed it! But are you  sure that the falafel really is from Libanon;)Saludos and happy traveling!
