Great place for a Gujurathi vegetarian Thali meal (they have Thali meals only, no a-la-carte). Plenty of items in the Thali from appetizers like Dhokla, Samosa, Masala Poori and Roti with plenty of veggie dishes and good number of desserts. The servers are always coming around to the table to refill anything you want. And ask for meetha pan at the end. Kids under 5 eat free. The undhiyu is great and the shrikand was amazing. The parking is a little tight and so is the waiting area since the place is small - so weekends can get pretty crowded.

Energized by a passion for serving and a love of Indian cuisine, Chaat Bhavan - El Camino is more than a restaurant -- it's a way of life. Specializing in northern and southern Indian delicacies, we have over 70 dishes on our menu with an emphasis on vege
We went for lunch on a weekend and got seated quickly. We liked the wide choice of vegetarian dishes. Two of us had thalis while another two ordered other items. All of us liked the taste of the food. The service was also good. The ambience was better than another Indian restaurant we went to in Sunnyvale. The pricing was reasonable. Happy with the visit. Thanks for stopping in! It's wonderful to hear your lunch hit the spot. Thanks so much for the compliments, and we can't wait to have you back again.Till then,Team at Chaat Bhavan

A traditional Indian cuisine.Buffet was rated as very good with variety of food.Went all the way from Dublin/Fremont with family(09) including four children with age range of 8 to 12 years. The waiting time was 20 mts.So we thougut it is worth waiting. Finally it took more than one hour just because of their inefficient management. The management went on accomodating small groups ignoring 9 member group. We lost patience.Lost apetite.Children didnot eat.we could not relish. The management was unable to replinsh the food.Complimentary Beer served was of very poor quality.Never again. The visit was horryfying.Food apart.I personally rate it as very badly managed Restaurant. Not worth going on a SUNDAY or a holiday.

Chicken biryani was horrible just some chicken curry mixed with rice. Not even close to calling it biryani. It had some grapes added to it. Dont waste your money. Go to Peacock in santa clara or amber for this. The seekh kabab had an overwhelming smell to it. Just couldnt eat it. The chicken tikka curry had just 2 /3 miserly small bits of chicken . No taste just color to it. Chicken makhani was ok. The naans were the only items worth it and were excellent. Will not go back here for sure.

Pros: friendly waitress, price, locationCon: decorNeutral: lassi, foodâs spice levelInformation: restaurant is located on popular Murphy Street. Parking is most easily found in the parking garage off W. Evelyn Ave. The waitress was busy but friendly. The garlic naan bread was tasty. The lamb vindaloo was flavorful but spicy. Not so spicy that I couldnât eat it but spicier than I like. You can choose your spicy level (mild, medium, etc). The menu has a lot of choices including curries and vegetarian. The decor was dull and boring and the carpet looked worn out (the only negative). Iâll definitely return and order something milder.

This restaurant was almost dead opposite the hotel we were staying in and we utilised it as a couple of our colleagues were veggie. The decor is more cafe than posh restaurant with plastic tablecloths and basic layout, and no alcohol is served.Fortunately the mango lassies were cold and fruity and the food was very good. Can't say what I had as it was ordered by a Pakistani colleague but it was very flavoursome and up their with some of the vegetarian dishes I have experienced in India. And at $20 each with gratuity it was the cheapest dinner of the trip as well.

Being our wedding anniversary day we had first gone to Temple in Sunnyvale without taking breakfast and after prayer in temple we looked for a vegetarian restaurant for breakfast. My son advised this restaurant and we reaches Madras cafe at about 10-30 AM and at that time there was not much rush and so we did not have to wait much. We ordered Dosas, Dahi wada and Idlys. All the items were very tasty and priced reasonably. Of course the ambience and cleanliness was not of a high order but was moderate as we found a fly, probably because of frequent opening of entrance/exit door. I recommend this restaurant for delicious south Indian dishes, if one is not looking for a high furnishings. The rest rooms are well maintained and parking is also available. This restaurant in its get up and lay out, furniture etc is like many such restaurants in the Bay Area
