Reviews on Indian food in Famagusta, Famagusta District, Cyprus. Famagusta /ˌfæməˈɡʊstə, ˌfɑː-/ (Greek: Αμμόχωστος locally [aˈmːoxostos]; Turkish: Mağusa [mɑˈɰusɑ], or Gazimağusa [gɑːzimɑˈɰusɑ]) is a city on the east coast of Cyprus. It is located east of Nicosia and possesses the deepest harbour of the island. During the medieval period (especially under the maritime republics of Genoa and Venice), Famagusta was the island's most important port city and a gateway to trade with the ports of the Levant, from where the Silk Road merchants carried their goods to Western Europe. The old walled city and parts of the modern town presently fall within the de facto Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Gazimağusa District, of which it is the capital. It is also notable as the birthplace of the eponymous hero of the Renaissance proto-novel Fortunatus.

Tikka Indian Restaurant & Bar

We visited this restaurant for the first time last year, not long after they'd opened. There were however none of the usual "new restaurant" teething issues that you so often see, the fact that they'd previously had an Indian restaurant elsewhere was very evident.I'm half Indian so can be a bit fussy as I want everything to taste like my Dad made it! I wasn't disappointed here. Between us we had a variety of dishes, all of which were presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. The owners were really welcoming and friendly, but also efficient. The decor is amazing, including some great upcycled pieces that one of the owners made. They provide free water in glass bottles (rather than single use plastic ones that most restaurants use) and don't use plastic straws which really pleased us. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Brilliant, outstanding friendly pub, treated like family. Home from Home, Food amazing, you can get a full English for 3 euros, beautifully cooked. Excellent Service, Polite, Courteous, and very friendly. Evening entertainment HIGHLY RECOMMEND, specially the Elvis Night. George, Castello and family were so lovely, nothing was too much trouble for them. We frequented every day of our holiday, and they made it. We CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH. Thank you so much, hope your all well and see you next year.Chris & PaulEngland
