Gorgeous cosy little restaurant with essential booking needed. Food standard, had a starter of balsamic vinager oil and bread which wasnt great not worth the money. My chicken risotto wasnt nice rice felt hard. Shame, poor quality food. Staff lovely and attentiveDear Natalie,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Fabulous Home cooked food in a 17th century inn with excellent wines and quality cask ales, roaring fires in winter, stunning beer garden in the summer. One of the best little pubs in Lancashire!

It's been a few months since the 'Creaking Four' ate at the Foot!First time was one of the best meals we'd ever had, second the food was good but the service had really slipped.Will revisit soon and post again

We decided on spec to go out for a meal for my sons birthday. I had seen good reviews about the Gatehouse but my family was a little hesitant as although we drive past regularly we never thought of popping in. We we were very impressed !! The staff were lovely and welcoming , The menu was concise but good. The food came quickly and was amazing !! My son had the Hanging Kebab , Loved it , My wife had the Lamp shank and it didnt touch the sides and both me and my daughter both really enjoyed our meals very much. We will definitly return and recomend a vist.

Visited last night for a bite to eat with friends. Lovely interior and very friendly staff to welcome you. Although the name may suggest, if you are dieting/being healthy, don't think this is the only food they offer - the food is delicious and there is plenty of it. Will definitely be visiting again.
