Tried the Pittman’s grill following its relatively recent modernisation. Room tastefully decorated and now managed by Monica. This Polish born lady really knows her stuff. After a few visits you are warmly welcomed by her and feel appreciated. She has improved the menu, the quality of the food by hiring a new chef, which turns out to be her husband. Food is always good quality and there are different offers nearly every night. The best offer is the two for one grill night on a Wednesday night but best to book a table for this. There is also a 48oz steak challenge if you eat in an hour it’s free. Another offer is free deserts with a meal on a Friday. Service can be a bit slow at times but not so bad to irritate you. We have also tried Sunday lunch and the quality of the food especially the beef or pork was excellent. So well done Mon and her team for reinvigorating this local hostelry.

Plenty of offers in return for downloading their App. Downstairs is cosy but the upstairs terrace has a retractable roof so readily converts to outdoors if the sun is shining. Long happy hour with 2 cocktails for the price of one. Staff friendly and attentive. We have visited a couple of times at lunchtime. Friday evenings gets very busy. Food is averagely priced and fairly standard for this type of establishment - good but no real wow factor.Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We’re glad you enjoyed your visit to our venue and took advantage of our app offers and hope to see you again some time soon! Many thanks, Revolution x

Looking for a 5pm pick me up we were drawn in by a ‘coffee & cake £4’ sign. In fact this is more of a burger / fries establishment. Vast menu, with enormous portions (order to share). Loaded fries (large) were mammoth, skin on fries, crispy crumbled streaky bacon and cheese sauce. Side salad was tasty and helped cut through the grease nicely. Coffee was wickedly strong. Staff were friendly, greeting everyone well and notably asking all patrons about allergies at the outset (something I hadn’t before seen/heard). Ideal spot for students.
