The food at Casa Algarvia is very poor by most standards. It's bland and oily, you'd get better food at Sizzler. However, the general standard of food in Cavoeiro seems low, so Casa Algarvia might consider it's food to be acceptable.The staff were okay, but overall, you should avoid eating here if you want decent food.

If you are a steak lover, this is the place for you. There is a good selection of steaks to choose from, both South American and black Angus. I had the ribeye which was superbly cooked, nicely caramelised on the outside yet rare on the inside. Friends were equally impressed with their fillet steaks. The black pudding starter was excellent although there wasnât much of it. Thereâs also a good wine list. Service is good, weâll definitely be back next year

This restaurant is a short stroll from Rocha Brava with an attractive setting and tables well spaced in a courtyard and on a verandah. The service was first rate with enthusiastic and informative waiting staff who were keen to provide information about the options on the menu.Our pre dinner cocktails (Caipirinhas) were excellent, not too sweet and the house wine was of a very good quality from Alentejo. The Monkfish and prawn skewers were extremely good, cooked to perfection and not at all overdone which is so easy to do! The Portuguese steak was tasty with a lovely rich sauce.Throughout our meal the staff were attentive and the ambience of the restaurant made for a most enjoyable evening. This was one of the tastiest and best value meals that we have had during our trip to Portugal and we will certainly return here on our next trip. Highly recommended!
