We are back 15/8-22/8 last time was in june. Allways a plesure to wisit,love the fantastic breakfast with home made jam, fresh orange juice, home made coockies omelett, eggs, bacon, etc etc.... I was with my parents a few days ago in that restaurant and it was so amazing a beautifull place and tasty food we were having so much fun it was a nice day. And the cost of the food was so cheap I loved that day,we promise we will come again soon!

We visited yesterday, and what a great restaurant this is......well worth the "climb up the hill".Really lovely setting and friendly staff who did not oversell, and let's not forget fantastically tasty food...Believe all the other positive reviews, this place deserves it's position as the best local restaurant.The only negative on the day for us, and in fairness it could (and does) happen anywhere, was that table of 5 sat next to us as we were finishing and all 5 lit up cigarettes with no consideration to others that included a family with small children.Definitely recommended, and we hope to visit again during our stay.

Well after a disappointing meal the night before at a different restaurant we went to Socrates hoping for some better food.... and they delivered it. Really tasty, well presented food. Good, decent portion sizes. I had fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection with a gorgeous pepper sauce. The lady owner spent time chatting to us and was so friendly, wish we had chance to eat here a second time before we left! Definitely worth a visit, the view is amazing from the restaurant as well! If you go at the right time you can watch the sunset !

The first time in Kolymbari we've been tempted by a proper taverna. Goat tasted good but slow cooking needs another couple of hours to produce the best 'fall off the bone' type dish. Overall somewhat disappointed but the different rakis helped soften the blow. Very friendly but somewhat puzzled by its rating.

Third time in Platanias and third time to visit this wonderful family run gallery and taverna. The food is absolutely first class and Mediterranean dishes presented exquisitely and taste delicious. Home made aubergine salad and olives with bread are just the start of a fabulous evening meal every time! Complimentary desserts are wonderful too. Also have snacks and lighter bites and an extensive drinks menu so ideal for lunchtime too.Located just past the Minoa Palace Resort and Spa it is a little niche. We recommend you give it a try. Beer,this time Mythos, was served in frozen glas. On the house we got an apertizer with grillad bread and something to dip it in. We orded moussaka, that was very beautiful served with tomato, cucumber, pepper and onion and was very good. And as a dessert we was given an icecream and of course some raki, on the house! This is a restaurant that we gladly rekommend if you are in Kolymbari, Crete.

We go here every time we are in Platanias/Agia Marina.Great Italian food. Best carbonara in the world according to my daughter. Their Frutti di Mare Pasta is also great. Friendly staff, although a bit inattentive at the time we were there. Only minus is that their is no playground for children.

Wonderful and friendly staff, good service and lovely atmosphere. Amazing food. It doesn't matter what you order. You will not be disappointed. All dishes taste excellent.The amazing taste and the high quality makes you feel the dishes are made by an experienced mother in a local home kitchen who has cooked for them her own children.We are really happy that you enjoyed our restaurant.
