High above Fürth/ Odenwald there is in the Forest the traditional Gasthaus.You cannot pay with credit card , but you can gourmet what you call Odenwälder Spezialitäten and Apfelwein.The place is still family operated . Outside you view the paddock with horses and sheep , occasional you spot a dear .Many hikers or bikers stop also moon their way to Hammelbach there .Any time , we stop we enjoy it , independent of the season

We are spoiled in eating. For most guests it will be excellent. The service is correct and attentive. The gameweeks in october and november a worth to come for.Allthough you can diner at noon. You get more after 1700 hour. A greet from the kitchen, cloth napkins and candlelight.The price-quality ratio is very good.Their fresh smoked trout (really fresh so you must wait 25 minutes).The marronsoup with hare'knoedel'the raspberry gingerparfait and so on.

Von der Einrichtung ist das Lokal zwar etwas aus der Zeit gefallen, aber die Speisekarte bietet Leckeres zu günstigen Preisen. Die Schnitzel sind Weltklasse, sowas findet man woanders schwer.

Odenwälder Küche ist eher "deftig, rustikal". Hier wird sie neu interpretiert. Das Lokal und der Aussenbereich sind urgemütlich - aufmerksames Personal und sehr gutes Essen mit gutem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Es war unser erster, aber garantiert nicht letzter Besuch!

This place is all about having a good time. Great food and beer. Cozy "Biergarten" in the summer. There is a Band on weekends playing German and English favorites. Free parking outside. Friendly staff and owner. Right on the main road so you can't miss it.

A somewhat out-of-the way hotel and restaurant in a beautiful rural setting. We had lunch here with a party of 6. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was excellent. I had the Sauerbraten with potato dumplings, and it was delicious. Would definitely eat here again if I was in the area.

I was actually a bit dissapointed with the restaurant. The ambience is fine and in summer it must really be lovely to sit outside, no doubt. But, I would'nt go out of my way to visit the restaurant. If you are in the vicinity then It's ok.The menu was pretty small and not really appealing. Somehow they are trying to combine regionality with gourmet and this does not work out that well. Their winelist is also below average for a restaurant in this category. Most local wines from the Bergstrasse but this is not everyone's taste.The starter, I found was too pricey â¬15,-- for a minute chicken assortment. It did look pretty though.I had game for mains and the portion was very reasonable. The game cooked to perfection which was soft and moist. The gravy reduction was way to strong. Vegetables cooked to perfection as well.The service is very friendly and helpful.

Near the restaurant you can look at the ruins of an old castle!That is worth a look at! The restaurant is quite nice! You can sit outside and have a nice view or sit inside which is a more historic place! I prefer the terrasse! The food is good, you have a good choice! It tastes good too and is really cheap! Kartoffelpuffer(shredded potatoes) with salmon for only 4 euros!!!!!! Really worth a visit!
