The Plough and Sail is in the rather uninspiring Snape Maltings shopping complex (apart from the brilliant concert hall). We had a very poor meal. The main issue was we ordered the special of a dover sole tempura, which was a nice tower of tempura swimming in a sort of runny fish and red pepper soup. So within a minute we were looking at a plate of food that had turned to a mush of soggy batter and fish strips. I have to hope that on this day the chef had simply got it wrong as there are so many other good reviews.

Came across this place on a visit to Carlton meres country club. It has just had a refurb and my god this place is great. we were lucky enough to come across it on a sunday where they have launched a sunday Carvery. My gosh this was good. Speaking to the manager there he was saying that there is a lot of quality entertainment coming up in the year. Will be going to the whitney Houston one. will defo go there again.

Out for a light lunch at the White Horse and very pleasant it was too.Cameron was very helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable on both the ales and the food. He managed to rustle up something that was not actually on the menu and did some changes to my meal to make it the way I like it.This pub has come a long way in a shirt time under the recent change of management.Thanks Cameron et-al, excellent service and good banter.
