Pleasant environment by the river, and excellent staff serving us meant we enjoyed our dinner. The menu has standard 'chain restaurant' choices with some nice dishes, but the steak was average. In contrast the prawn starter was excellent. Beware of the cost of side dishes bumping up your bill and check it carefully, as we found an expensive bottle of wine on the bill that had been returned as it was not what we asked for!

The Boatman is proud to be Windsor's only proper pub on The Thames with uninterrupted views of the river overlooking Eton Bridge and the fascinating waterfront life. The Boatman has an all-weather terrace with a retractable roof in case of inclement weath
Making the most of the last hot days of summer. The Boatman has become a favourite for drinks outside with a bit of a view - thereâs always something interesting passing by on a boat! Service is always good, especially today where it has been a particular hot evening and a lot of wasps flying around. A big thank you specially you to the staff for âhumouringâ my partner with his terrible dad jokes! We're sure your partners 'dad jokes' were not 'terrible' (but perhaps you have heard them before?). Do return soon - even though the weather is not so good now, you can still have a view of the river from the Conservatory - and keep warm and dry!

The Fox & Hounds is an eligant, yet relaxed & atmospheric Pub/Restaurant with its picturesque surroundings, including boasting Windsor Great Park right on its doorstep. We have every setting you could possibly desire. The remote setting of our front garden
We stopped for a leisurely lunch while taking a long walk around Windsor Great Park and the surrounding area. The pub has bar and restaurant areas inside, but on a sunny July day it was a pleasure to sit in the garden area in front. It is very relaxing (although the furniture could be a bit more up to date and comfortable), and they even cater for horses! They have some nice summer drinks like Pimm's and Aperol Spritz. We followed this with a lovely bottle of Provencal rosé from the limited but quite agreeable wine list. I think the food menu for the restaurant is more comprehensive than the bar menu which is also used for food served in the garden. We did find some light and summery dishes: a Greek salad and a mezze platter. There was a bit of a wait as the pub was busy even mid week - it is very popular with locals although it is a bit isolated. My Greek salad was a nice plate of fresh garden vegetables with a large slab of marinated feta, but the dressing was a bit characterless. My friend's dish consisted of hummus, dolmades, olives, feta and tzatziki served with pita and a some salad leaves. Perfect for lunch on a warm summer's day!Service was by a couple of different people and also from the bar. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Prices are slightly on the high side for a country pub, but still acceptable.

Went to the corner house for a roast with my family on Sunday evening, have to say that although the range of beers is impressive and the bar staff knowledgeable on the selection our experience was ruined by waiting 40 minutes for our main courses and a further 20 minutes for our desserts. The chef had run out of our first choice of dessert so we changed our order only to be told by the waitress that they had run out of toffee pudding as well. My daughter commented how she heard a chef shouting and swearing at a barman when she went to the toilet. All in all very disappointing and wonât be returning which is a shame as itâs by far the best beer range in Windsor.Hi DaveFirstly I would like to apologise for the experience you had with us and would like the opportunity to make it up to you. Unfortunately some Sundayâs can be incredibly busy and with only having a small kitchen it can sometimes take longer to get larger tables food out to them. However running out of multiple desserts is unacceptable along with aggressive behaviour. A meeting was held on Tuesday just gone and your feedback was highlighted to everyone concerned and I can assure you that this will not happen again. Please contact us at: [email protected] to arrange how we can make up for your bad experience. Kind RegardsPete

Overlooking the beautiful green, we have sympathetically restored the gorgeous historic inn to create a warm, welcoming pub and brasserie. With plenty of nooks and crannies for leisurely lunches, family gatherings and quiet post-work pints with friends an
My girlfriend and I dined here last night for the second time. The menu is very varied and that little bit different from most restaurants. The service was prompt efficient and very friendly and the food excellent. Our experience was hugely enhanced by our charming and witty waiter , 'the man with the moustache' ( you know who you are!) who turned a routine dining experience into a memorable one. We shall be back!Thank you so much for this fab review! I'll pass your comments onto the 'charming' Clive. Kind regards,Sophie

The staff here are fantastic, so attentive and nothing is to much trouble, we came for lunch and had beetroot salads starter, fish and chips and salted caramel tart with praline macaroon. They do a wonderful elderflower with mint, lemon and lime drink which Is so refreshing. I am pleased that you found the team fantastic, the service great and the food and environment good.We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.Kind regardsCraig SpencerResident / Guest Relations Manager

Built around 1480, The Thatched Tavern was originally a farmhouse with a croft (a small farm). There was also a Blacksmiths forge at the back of the building where the kitchen hatch is now, and a wood store at the end of the bar.During the reign of Queen

Award winning Gastropub in Old Windsor bringing you fine dining worthy of any restaurant but in a country pub. With an emphasis on excellent service and fine British dining, the menus are thoughtfully designed by Chef Proprietor Steven Ellis, to present t
More than a gastro pub, the food was amazing, beautiful ingredients lovingly prepared & cooked. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and obviously passionate about the food & wine she was serving. All of it was delicious but the deer was stunning and loved the Bon Bon we were given when we had our pre dinner drinks
