Sorry, just canât justify a higher rating for this place. One member of staff for a busy lunchtime including the bar. Wrong sandwiches served up and horseradish that was doing an imitation of wasabi. I like it hot but this was on the verge of inedible. Couple this with the flooded toilet and rancid beer, which incidentally was their own signature ale, I was very pleased to leave.

1st visit, mid week lunch. Not very busy.Given various menus on a clipboard, good choice of food, vegetarians well catered for. (plus a specials board). Fish and chips spot on, Mexican Turkey very good and something different. Great choice of own brewed real ales and various others. Nice eating area (upstairs chained off, but guess would give a good atmosphere on a busy evening)All the good stuff was offset by some less than enthusiastic service. Had to actually ask for ice in a drink, the ice bucket was empty and fresh supplies had to collected from the kitchen, got the impression that this was a bit of a pain, which she was trying to avoid. Also no one bothered to let us know that there was a specials board. Luckily I had noticed it post ordering and did order from it when I was told that my original order from the main menu would take an half hour or so to prepare.

I booked the Golden Lion Inn due to being away on a work trip. I was really happy with the food including the breakfast and an amazing pudding!I was also really impressed with how friendly, attentive, professional & accommodating the staff were. The rooms are in need of modernising but all in all they were clean with fresh towels being provided on a daily basis. There is plenty of parking which is great as I have struggled with this in the past at other hotels-it makes a big difference! Will recommend to other colleagues. Thank you for a lovely stay.Thank you for taking the time to provide a detailed review on TripAdvisor. Friday evening visited the Lime Tree for the second time this week. 8 of us to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. Looked after amazingly by a very cheerful Katie. She took a complicated order with several special requests and we got exactly what we had requested. She couldnât have been more helpful or efficient. She really helped to make the evening very special. Food was fantastic as always. Everyone was so friendly. Our guests were very impressed with the staff and quality of food. Our son an ex Senior Head Chef commented âYou know itâs a great steak when you donât have to season it!â He was also very impressed with the Calamari. We are so lucky to have this great restaurant on our doorstep.
