Koto Grill

Koto is my favorite restaurant around Salem. They are always very pleasant and we have definitely made friends with the staff there. I love how the sushi menu is always changing. The drinks are amazing and the soup is out of this world. The only drawback is the Bathroom. If the bathroom was gutted and refurnished with better walls, and lighting it would look 100% better. I'm kind of a big stickler on bathrooms when I dine out. But if you are ever in Salem, please visit Koto. You won't be disappointed!!.

Cilantro

We have patronized Cilantro for many years, and still very much enjoy it. The criticisms in some of the reviews seem very unfair, as this is a high end Mexican restaurant that is more expensive than those offering lesser fare, with slightly smaller portions. The food, drinks and service at Cilantro are all top notch.

My husband and I recently participated in one of FOYP Dining with strangers event and we had a ball. Chef Jonil's personality is perfect for this concept. His ice breakers really brought the room together. To be completely honest the food was second to the conversation and the strangers we met. We came for the food but left with some great conversation, good vibes and lots of laughs. The meal theme was Tapas style the night we went. Food was very light but delicious. We would love to experience a sit down styled meal next time with Chef Jonil.Day and Phil, I appreciate your feedback! It is like the Universe wanted folks like you at my inaugural event because you made the night magical. I promise to invite you to a sit down styled meal (I’ve got some ideas flowing). We’re no longer “Strangers”, now we are friends!
