Kaunas was the biggest city and the centre of a county in Trakai Municipality of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania since 1413. In the Russian Empire, it was the capital of the Kaunas Governorate from 1843 to 1915. During that period Kaunas has been nicknamed the Little Paris because of rich cultural and academic life, fashion, construction of countless Art Deco, Lithuanian National Romanticism architectural style buildings as well as popular furniture, interior design of the time and widespread café culture. The city interwar architecture is regarded as one of the finest examples of the European Art Deco and received the European Heritage Label, it also resulted in naming Kaunas the first city in Central and Eastern Europe as a UNESCO City of Design. In 2022, Kaunas will be the European Capital of Culture, together with the Luxembourgish city of Esch-sur-Alzette.

I cannot say anything about food - have not tasted it. However, the service we experienced was terrible - we had to wait for about 20 minutes (while waiters and hotel receptionist were sending us to one another and communicating via walkie-talkie) just to find out that we would not be able to get a table for Sunday brunch, even though there were plenty of free tables. I would blame myself for not ordering the table in advance, but the thing was that we arrived well before restaurant working hours to have a walk around and asked the same receptionist, whether it will be possible to have brunch as soon as restaurant opens - she said nothing about the reservations made.

This place is with nice interior their sweet potatoes sticks are my favorite. Also they have a wide menu of cocktails we tried all they are good. The food is good, but the only thing which I do not like in this place is the staff. It sometimes looks that they are for other space when you ask something you probably wont get an answer cuz they donât know anything. I noticed that in this place most of the time one person sits you to the table, another brings a menu, third takes your order, fourth will bring your dishes and the fifth will bring your bill so in the end you do not know for which you should leave tips and how you should evaluate their work.

Horrible service. We waited 1 hour for drinks, then girl came and said that there is no beer and non alcoholic cider (after hour). We ordered other drinks instead and asked to bring drinks. We get drinks after more than hour, then we waited for pizzas and other stuff more than 1,5 hour. Pizzas was cold and girl said that there is no dumplings (after 1,5 hour!). We ordered nothing more... it was friday but there was no people and we get such a horrible service...
