My partner and I ate at l'aromate this evening and found it a complete eating experience, we are English and our French is basic to say the least, the waiter therefore gave us an impromptu French lesson whilst talking us through the menu! He was very patient and good humoured with us and made what could have been a difficult evening very enjoyable. The food was first class and we would highly recommend this restaurant to travellers.

We tried to go here on a Friday night, but were too late with reserving and the place was full all evening. Thats a good sign! - so we asked to reserve for lunch on a Saturday before leaving Metz! We were happy we did. We had the Filet Angus with roasted vegetables, which were very impressive! Could not exactly tell what they were but they were all delicious.

Ate here and loved it. The restaurant is small, about 6 tables inside. The Chicken Cordon Bleu with rice and vegtables was excellent. The beef Kabobs were very good as well as the duck. The highlight was a dessert that was a white chocolate mouse cake covered in vanilla sauce. I highly recommend this place, 4 people, 4 entree's, two bottles of wine and two desserts were Euro 120.

Came for lunch after reading all the reviews on Trip Advisor and totally happy with this choice. Very cosy, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Excellent food ! Run by two ladies - one is Chef and one runs the restaurant. Enjoyed our small talk...Yes to women power! :)

I had the opportunity to try this restaurant with my family this month. The food was excellent, too bad the organisation/service wasn't. Even if they were very nice, all the waiters were dealing with our table and mistakes were made... I would recommend, maybe it was just this day!

Le Pampre is a perfect spot to grab lunch (or dinner) if you're touring around central Metz. It is literally steps from the cathedral and the market and stands out compared to many of the tourist oriented restaurants in the area. You can order off the a la carte menu or splurge on one of the three set menus (way better value). I had the veal as my main dish (two decent pieces served with a delicious risotto and carrots) and my companion the quiche Lorraine (a different take with the filling having the consistency of whipped eggs and cream) - both dishes were excellent. I decided to splurge on the chocolate dessert ("Le Chocolat") which included three takes on chocolate - a delicious serving of chocolate gelato, two "lollipops" of a thick chocolate ganache sprinkled with sugar bits that popped in your mouth and a chocolate sandwich with layers of chocolate mousse and a chocolate soft biscuit. The service was excellent, the prices fair for the quality of the food and the dining room blissfully cool on a hot day and a modern and tasteful design.

The restaurant is situated on a small island in the middle of the Moselle river close to the Parc de la Cavalerie where you can go for a nice walk after lunch. It's 2.2kms from the railway station and will take you half an hour to walk there so it's better to take a taxi for about â¬12. It's one of the eight restaurants in Metz selected by the Michelin guide and I'm sure it will soon have a star.I had come to Metz for a chess tournament and had arrived the day of the summer solstice where there is the Fête de la Musique all over France. I got off the train and took a taxi to my hotel to drop off my suitcase then went here for lunch. The restaurant opened in September 2017.Upon entering I was greeted very nicely by the chef's wife Valérie and made to feel welcome. The waiter Loïc hurried over to greet me too and show me to a table and he looked after me throughout my meal always there when my wine glass needed filling or to answer any questions I had.I chose a table in the corner where there was a socket I could plug my laptop into and i connected to their Wifi. The decor is modern, the kitchen is open so you can see what's going on and the tables are spaced apart with plenty of room in between them. The leather chairs are very comfortable and there are 32 places with a maximum of 35 if they add a couple of chairs. There's also air conditioning and the toilets were very nice.The lunch menu which is available from Monday to Friday (except Wednesday when they're closed and they're also closed on Tuesday evening) costs â¬15 for a main dish alone, â¬20 for a starter and a main dish or a main dish and a dessert or â¬25 if you have all three.The day I was there the menu had olives and capers in which I don't like but they told me the chef Cédric could remove them. I started with a glass of champagne for â¬10 which came with two mini tartelettes. I got a good size glass but since I like my champagne really bubbly, I could tell it had been opened the previous day. I barely had time to mention it when my glass was whisked away, a new bottle opened and in 5 minutes I had my champagne the way I like it. I was also impressed with the level of the service worthy of a Michelin starI decided to have the 4 course Menu Quintessence which the chef decides on. You can add 3 glasses of wine for â¬15 but when I found out that they would be very small glasses, I ordered a bottle of wine for â¬35 which Loïc recommended. I found the wine prices to be very reasonable.To start I was given an amuse bouch of mussel soup then I had seared foie gras with piquilla and strawberry sorbet then I had cod with artichokes and a slice of chorizo and after that beef with three styles of carrots. There was a small pre-dessert of marinated apricot with almond milk ice cream and a tuile de nougatine then there was a coque au chocolat with cherries and Kriek sorbet.Everything was beautifully presented and delicious and the service from Valérie and Loic was perfect, in fact I was so happy that I immediately booked a table for Sunday lunch.On the way out they gave me a nice carrier bag with the rest of my wine and a packet of mini madeleines.On Sunday I had the Menu Substance for â¬65. I started with a glass of champagne which was perfectly bubbly and two mini tartelettes.I got an amuse bouche of asparagus panna cotta with bacon then tuna tartare. After that I had lobster followed by chicken with different coloured caulflower then a pre-dessert then a main dessert.Once again everything was wonderful and I highly recommend this restaurant.

We read numerous reviews to pick the best restaurant in Metz to celebrate a special birthday. We picked this one based on previous reviews and we were not disappointed at all. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised.The food is extremely delicious, with some research on it. The name tells all. The restaurant is small, probably 10 tables max, white tablecloth, nice, relaxing, and elegant decoration on the table and in the restaurant. It's very quiet, we went during the week at lunch time on a Tuesday, there were a mix of family and business lunches and the restaurant was almost full but not noisy at all.The price is very good for the quality of the food served. We had the 4 courses: starter, meat dish, fish dish, and dessert, excellent. We had the bouillabaisse which is not your usual bouillabaisse, it's fine and succulent. We had the duck dish which was cooked to perfection, and the fish dish too. The temperature of the food was perfect. The dessert was very tasty. Portions are good.Kids are welcome. They had a choice of an adult dish in a smaller portion and they loved it. Our kids asked for ice cream for dessert, which was served with fruits on the top and well decorated. They serve a pre-starter (mise en bouche) and little sweets with the coffee.The service is very good, our waitress was very quiet we could hardly hear what she was saying but it was good as we couldn't hear her when she was serving other tables. We met the owner and he is very nice too.We were there for a special occasion, we asked for a menu without price printed and they printed individual and personalized menus! what a nice surprise, well done and thank you! They put a sparkling candle on the dessert too.Our only down comment would be we waited a long time between the drinks and the pre-starter and I think they were waiting for us to finish our drink first before starting the service so probably a miscommunication. Once they started the service, the speed between dishes was perfect.We highly recommended this restaurant to our family and friends and will continue to do so. We'll come back again as soon as we can.There is a parking next to it which is convenient.I recommend to book it in advance, we booked it 1 month ahead of time.

This was almost certainly the worst meal I've ever eaten in France...and I've been visiting the country for at least 15 years!The starter, (so called) foie gras, was in reality a cold slab of country pate. The main a double patty burger was extremely overcooked, and whoever came up with the brainwave of replacing a bread bun with potato rosti has obviously gone mad. To be honest, potato rosti may have been ok...but this wasn't rosti, it was slabs of heavy, dry, processed potato cake that obviously came out of a packet. By the time chips, (frites) were added to the plate I'd eaten enough potato to last all week.The wine and beers were reasonable, both price and quality and the 'only' reason I haven't given this a terrible (1 green circle) mark is because the Caramel Lovers Dessert (check the website) was excellent and saved the day.One worrying trend. This restaurant (whilst out of town on a retail/industrial estate) was packed with French diner's. In the past we've always admired the French for their class and discerning taste. In recent years we've noticed that the Gallic waistlines are beginning to catch up with their British (and American) counterparts. I've often wondered why...I wonder no more. If they are now embracing junk food like this the answer is obvious!Bonjour à vous, Nous sommes exactement dans la culture française sur le concept de notre établissement, des pommes de terres françaises, du fromages français, des ingrédients simples. Pour votre foie gras nous sommes désolés mais nous sommes en Lorraine qui n'est pas connue pour ce produit, donc nous sommes obligés de l'acheter. Pour les röstis sur les burger, outre le fait que c'est préciser sur le menu que ce sont des röstis et non du pain, nous avons voulu marquer notre différence et tout en suivant notre concept de pomme de terre et donc le röstis de pomme de terre s'est imposé comme une évidence et est plébiscité par notre clientèle française et d'ailleurs nous en avons mis 8 sortes différents sur notre carte hiver.Bien à vous et bonne vacances dans notre beau pays ;-)
