We dined here our first night at the hotel and weren't disappointed. Service was friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. The best part was enjoying pre-dinner drinks in front of the roaring fire.

Je moet het wat zoeken en te voet vanuit Vielsalm is het een flinke wandeling (je moet immers ook nog terug) maar het loont de moeite. Het is ook een feestzaal maar er is een afgescheiden restaurantgedeelte. Zowel de hapjes, voorgerecht en hoofdschotel (hert) waren lekker. De keuken is eerder klassiek. Het nagerecht vond ik persoonlijk nogal aan de zware kant maar dit kwam ook wel omdat men met de vorige gerechten reeds voldoende gegeten heeft.

L'art de l'etable has a warm, cozy and stylish interior. There was some soft blues playing in the background and a fire is burning in the small fireplace. The reception was sincerely friendly.The menu offers quite a few dishes and some suggestions. The food is a pleasure to look at and you can taste that it is prepared with care and a passion for flavour. The portions are adequate. The prices are very reasonable, certainly for the quality you get. (main dishes ranging from â¬13-â¬28 at the time of this visit)Vegetarian options are limited to one main dish at the time of writing this review (but I get the feeling that the chef wouldn't mind altering the recipe to your needs).I really recommend this restaurant for anyone who appreciates very good food for a good price.

This turned out to be a most sympathetic restaurant. It was not so much the serving, done by an older man and a very young girl, both not very talkative, but the whole setting breathed a cosy athmosphere.The room is modern, yet with much light, coming from big windows, with a nice view to the backside.We took the 4 course BIB gourmand menue.Cuisine is classical French. Not any sign of modernism. Thus, deep flavoury dishes and sauces. I found the dark shiny wine sauce that accompagnied the deer fillet very well made.One letdown though: the croquettes were right out of a industrial deepfrozen bag.Winelist only French. Prices for anyones purse.All in all a nice experience.

The day was hot, and inside the restaurant it was 30°C, we were sweating at the table. A saturday night, a good ten tables, only one waiter and apparently one cook, so it took forever.The food was good overall. The low temperature egg as entrée was very nice. For the main course, the Simmental beef afterwards was slightly overcooked, and had no more than an ounce of vegetables on the side, which is to say not much. I like meat, but I like to have something accompanying it.The chocolate dessert was excellent, though. Good finish. But we were veeeery happy to leave because the temperature outside was much more bearable. For a restaurant that wants to be a little fancy, having efficient service and temperature-controlled room whould be a pre-requisite. Not recommended.Hello,We are sorry that the temperature wasn't good in the restaurant. We agree with you. This is our first summer since we made some transformations in the room. We are surprised to note that the heat stay in the room. We tried to find an air conditioner, unfortunately without succes.The time you had to wait probably seemed longer because of the temperature. Our waiter was alone but we were 2 in the kitchen. If my memory is good, you came 15 minutes late. It has consequences on our work more than you can imagine. We don't try to find an excuse, juste give you an explanation.For the beef, you received a piece of 270 gr. It's more than you can find in several restaurants. You had asparagus, cauliflower, ognon an potatoes with it. We are always open to receive an extra vegetables order, you just had to ask.You came with a vegetarian person. We accepted to prepare a stater in a dish portion. We offered some extra vegetables for her too.An other person was sad to not find the entire rhubarb with her duck (it was in the sauce), the chief offered a portion of the rhubarb confit he used to prepare the sauce.We are sorry that your visit in our restaurant didn't let you a good memory, but we think that after everything we did to content you, we didn't merit a sentence like "not recommanded" or a 2/5 note, even if we are not supprised when we see the other comments you let about other restaurants. Good italian restaurant with fresh food. The menu is rather large, with a very broad variety of dishes, which we usually do not like as it is unclear how everything can be freshly prepared.We had the day menu, which consisted of 4 dishes, which were simple and freshly prepared. The starter (swordfish carpaccio) was well prepared and perfectly seasoned. The pasta dish was meat ravioli with a truffle and cream sauce and was enjoyable. The main coarse (veal escalope with asparagus) was way too large but tasted okay. To finish 3 little desserts that were good but not great.The dining room is a little oldfashioned but fits to the style of the house and personnel. With a bottle of very good biological Montepulciano wine and water, we paid 130 EUR for 2 people, which was a little on the high side.

What a nice and good quality restaurant this is. Normally we think that most restaurants in The Ardennes are very unfriendly and not service minded, well this place proofs different!

We made a stop on our way home. Luckily they had a room available, and it was a very nice one. Much nicer than the exterior of the hotel makes you expect.The restaurant serves traditional dishes from the region. The staff is exceptionally friendly and they let us enter the rooms and the restaurant with our little dog which we appreciated very much.All in all we had a very good stay here!
