We came here by chance, knowing nothing about it. We were planning on doing some shopping nearby but had to wait till 2.30pm, while French businesses were closed down for lunch, so decided to check it out.This is not a sophisticated or romantic restaurant, but I have to admit that the meat was excellent, and the tenderest that I have ever had in France over the last 30 years, and served with really good chips.The young staff were charming and went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful.Parking is limited both in front of the restaurant and also on road, but if you need a red meat fix, it's worth the effort.Highly recommended for the quality of their meat, and we will definitely come again.

Accueil sympathique, cuisine simple et bonne avec des produits de saison et frais, et un rapport qualité prix très bien.à faire et refaire sans hésiter.

Lovely little country bar not far from home. Locally family owned & run, always friendly, they help me out when my French lets me down. We've been a few times now. Food served lunchtime & evenings, not a huge choice but tasty. The live music nights are great fun & there is a lovely atmosphere day or night.

Good restaurants cannot be found in every Charentes village when you leave the most touristic centers. In Chepniers there is one : La Diligence offers regional food, well served and friendly proposed. Prices are reasonable and winelist offers a good choice of sweetly priced bottles

Le restaurant viens d ouvrir à Vouthon. Horaire 7h - 23h le week-end ? Non non à 19h20 le restaurant est toujours incapable de répondre au téléphone pour une commande. Bref après avoir attendu 40 minutes que la commande à emporter soit prête ( 2 burgers Et 2 portion de frites maison?). Malgré la distance de 5 km entre le restaurant et la maison à mon arrivé les frites sont à peine chaude! Avec un goût d huile plus que mauvaise!!!!! Quand au burger froid le steak possède des restes des autres viandes cuite avant elle!!!! Une honte ce restaurant!!!!! C est du vol! Er quand à l hygiène je vous laisse imaginer..

Made a reservation after recommendation from friends. Very glad we did as it was a very busy evening. The menu of the day was well priced & had plenty of choice. All the food was good & we will certainly go back.

Excellent service.The food was very nice.Just a very nice and friendly place to eat.I had walked 52km and the restaurant was full, however they found a table for me and made sure I felt very welcome

Superb little restaurant near the castle in Montendre. Food was excellent and service great. Three course set menu included a lovely home cooked tart, pork confit and duck fat chips and a patisserie desert. Great value and a must visit.

We happened on this lovely tiny restaurant by chance, and felt very lucky as the meal we had was delicious. Very very French, it was charming. We went for the menu which kept the price under control, looked like we could of spent a fortune. However we were delighted with our meal and felt it was good value for money..
