First class service here with food superbly cooked and presented with excellent flavoursWonderful atmosphere looking out on the mountains opposite, bliss.This is a must when visiting Cape Town, we always book early and have been eating in La Colombe when in the Cape for over 18 years.even before they were at Constantia Nek.

Stopped by for a quick lunch last week. WOW spectacular, the lunch menu was the best choice, 2 or 3 course at very reasonable prices. The Quality of food is mind blowing, a feast of flavors and the portion sizes are perfect.Great venue...The fish cakes are incredible and the Chocolate Choux pastry dessert to die for.Dear Angelika HThank you for taking the time to review our restaurant and your fabulous compliments on our food. This is truly a hidden Gem in Hout bay. i took my fiance for supper at this fine restaurant last night and her remarks were : we must go there again. Superb Service, great Ambiance not crowded at all. I left there very happy. The meat was great. The soft music and the dimming of the lights also added to the good feel. Quentin, thank you for your hospitality and the excellent food.

The Setting: The bistro is located within Klein Constantia vineyards, we visited in December 2018, the natural surroundings alongside luscious green gardens and perfectly manicured purple flowers created stunning dramatic views of the farm entrance.The Food: Simply spectacular. We were lucky on the day we visited there was a food celebration for what I believe to be South Africa's best: fresh seafood. I had a calamari starter and my partner had mussels with a gorgeous freshly baked farm bread to dip in the sauce. We both had the fish as a main, grilled to perfection: juicy and nicely cooked without being dry at all. The pièce de résistance was dessert: panna cotta. Sounds simple but it was executed beautifully, it evoked a summer in Italy but with a Turkish flair; a soft dash of cardamom, roses galore and pistachios, sweetened with honey farmed at Klein Constantia, it was a memorable signature dish created by their executive chef. The Wines: The sparkling is perfectly dry and crisp, of course their legendary Vin de Constance is the perfect way to re-live the grand history of this place alongside your dessert. The Staff: Jill was super attentive and cheerful, Jason was incredible. Those were the up-front faces we saw but I am certain everyone at The Bistro is great. The Bistro: Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated. The shop is a must stop for a few bits and pieces to take back home.
