Nous avions le désir de manger rapidement étant sur l'étape Jaun-Gruyères à pied, nous avons trouvé le restaurant par internet et réservé. Quand nous sommes arrivés nous étions attendus, mais la table n'était pas dressée. Par contre la serveuse s'est donnée beaucoup de mal pour nous trouver une bonne place et tout bien installer pour nous, le patron est allé chercher une chaise pour enfant. Il y a aussi un coin pour les enfants avec des jeux.C'est un lieu simple, familial, sans prétention mais convivial. Le menu du jour : buffet de salades, bon morceau de viande très bien cuit, sauce top, légumes et super gratin dauphinois. Le tout pour 24.- pour nous s'était parfait.

Stopped by for lunch before returning home. The owner was very kind and obliging despite the fact that his chef was not there at that time. Sat on the terrace since the weather was great but there was a dining room that was very nice. We had salads but were told that most of the food served at the resto is homemade, including the sirops.

Stopped by here after a hike and had a great meal. The lamb is delicious as are the salads (finally a place in switzerland that doesn't make you suffer iceberg lettuce with tons of dressing and canned corn!) Our neighbouring table had what looked like excellent tartar.Service was attentive.A place to return to.

Commençons par le biens: Excellente nourriture à un prix décent dans un joli cadre, la petite terrasse à l'étage est biens agréable en été, a l'abris des bruit de la route et avec vue sur les Préalpes. Continuons par le moins biens: Arrivée dans un restaurant vide ou ce sont les habitués en trains de boire un verre qui indiquent après un temps d'attente par ou se diriger si on désire manger (merci a eux). Vaisselle ébréchée, je ne suis pas trop difficile mais dans un restaurant cela me semble inacceptable et il ne s'agissait pas que d'un seul ustensile. Service moyen, sourire que l'on sent commercial, efficacité sans rapport avec la faible occupation quand nous y fumes. La nourriture est quand même l'élément essentiel, ce n'est donc pas grave, mais c'est dommage de détériorer un repas pour des petits détails facilement améliorables.

Had the pleasure to have lunch outside there in early season. Wonderful scenic place and worth having lunch rather than dinner to enjoy the view. Of course for most visitors a significative drive will be necessary... but it is worth the effort. As for the food, we were not disappointed: sharp, original and beautiful dishes were at the expected level and everything we had was excellent. Portions were not very large and probably at least the main meat dish would have benefited from a an extra dose of generosity! Note the original concept for the cheese plate (in that kind of restaurant) where a small selection of cuts is brought for the whole table. Service was nice and friendly although not very attentive, maybe a relative weakness of the place. Prices correct. Good wine selection. Definitely a very nice address.

We came to Charmey for the Bain de Greuyer - and this was a perfect addition to the day's program! Excellent friendly service, swiss quality of meal, beautiful view behind the window, it jut couldn't get any better!

We have had a lunch today in this restaurant and everything has changed since the winter! The menu is quite exquisite with herbs and salads that are freshly picked. Delicious cooking for adults that look for the best but no special menu for the kids. It would be a fine idea to have special dishes for them. A place where I long to come back soon!

The cheese sandwich I ordered was almost a cheese platter. Good quality of ingredients, pleasingly presented, large sized, reasonably priced (CHF 7.50).The service of the ladies was always courteous, pleasing and skilful.The ambiance is vernacular and very cosy at the same time. I wished I could stay for hours.The bathroom is new, tastefully designed and very clean.My consumption was even low priced, regarding the high quality of the meal.
