It is the principal city of the Burlington, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Alamance County, in which most of the city is located, and is a part of the Greensboro-Winston-Salem-High Point CSA. The population was 50,042 at the 2010 census, which makes Burlington the 17th largest city in North Carolina. The Metropolitan Statistical Area population was over 150,000 in 2010.

I've been visiting Zack's ever since I can remember while growing up in Burlington. It was always a treat when my dad would take me there! This is one of the first places I go when I come back to Burlington to visit from Dallas. The combo dogs with Zack's Secret Hot Sauce is the way to go! Don't forget your Cheerwine!

This place has pretty good hot dogs and a tasty selection of fried foods at a reasonable rate. The only downside is the appearance; I'm sure this is a very clean establishment but the outdated decor gives a grimy impression. Worth stopping in though.

Burlington launched the Biscuitville fast-food breakfast chain back in the late 1970s - and there are several around town. This one, on Alamance Rd., is a newer one - and one of, if not THE, very best.The place is fresh, clean, modern, and the staff is very friendly. The offerings of Biscuitville are things like: assorted biscuits (steak, ham, sausage, chicken, bacon-egg-cheese, etc.), various platters (my "go to" is scrambled eggs - bacon - grits - and a biscuit with strawberry jelly), pancakes, oatmeal, 2 or 3 kinds of muffins (the red velvet is amazing), and the like. (Btw, they always spotlight a biscuit-maker working away right in the front window, so that you can see the freshness of their product)I've never been a big fan of their coffee (it always tastes a little soapy for some odd reason) - it's only fair at best... but their "southern" tea is super, and their self-serve soda station not only has Pepsi products, but features a North Carolina staple: Cheerwine!All in all, this Alamance Rd. location is a wonderful, perhaps even the best, representation of what Biscuitville is all about. Be aware that they open early (6:00 am, I think) but they close early too (2:00 pm). I highly recommend.
