Max was recommended to us by the extremely freiendly owner of a major Champagne house. Great recommendation, we were back again two days later. Within walking distance from the very Epernay centre. Small, two-storey, traditional. Classical French approach of same restroom (one up, one down) for both sexes, but well kept. Nicely prepared tables. As for the service â the owner is truly unique in his love of his profession and love for his clients. His small team follows in his steps. Remarkable, if not always by the book. Nice wine list (clearly with well structured champagne list as the key item), friendly markups. Traditional cuisine with great oysters, nice snails, but the (mandatory!) house speciality is beef tartare, prepared at the table. Perhaps slightly too mild for my taste, but the entire show is unforgettable. All in all, a 12- on 1-20 scale. Not the best French restaurant I have ever been to, considering dishes served, but the one I shall certainly visit again when in Epernay. And a lovely memory. Merci, Max!

We first came here about 5 years ago and had a wonderful meal. We brought friends back this time and it was just as amazing - again. Food is traditional french, done beautifully, rack of lamb cooked to perfection! Kristel and her team's service was impeccable and friendly, making it a great and memorable night for all. And what a wine list! Fantastic selection of champagnes, of course, and a great range of other French wines. Highly recommended, without hesitation.

In a warm atmosphere bathed in light, the restaurant is undoubtedly one flagship areas of the hotel. AS AN INVITATION TO NATURE, YOU WILL BE CARRIED AWAY BY THE FLAVORS OF THE DISHES, AROMATIC SCENTS THAT YOU FIND IN THE GARDEN.
We had a great dinner experience at the Restaurant at Hostellerie La Briqueterie. The food was creative and delicious. The service was fantastic and the sommelier, Delfin, was truly a gift! The wine list was extensive and reflective of the region, however at the same time including unexpected creative wines. Truly a representation of Delfin expertise!

When driving in France we often look for 'truck' stops: if the truckers go there then it must be good value for money. This one was no different: not fine food but a good wholesome meal. For less than 14 euros we got unlimited salad bar, a main course of lamb chops, cheeses and desserts. We were a bit disappointed with the salad bar ( too much dressing in the salads) but the lamb chops were very good. It was getting a bit late so the cheese selection was a bit light! There 2 pies for dessert; I never made it to desserts but they looked good.

We booked this restaurant as we were staying in the Château Etoges for a night - good job as there is no where else in Etoges to dine! That said both the Château and the restaurant are really excellent! My wife chose the set menu with a lobster cooked 2 ways as the starter and lamb as the main course. I chose the set menu with rabbit pie as a starter and sea bass as the main. We were both delighted with our choices. For me, the small rabbit pie was one of the best pies I have ever had - would definitely choose again. The main courses were equally well received. These were then followed by cheese and then the desert. They gave an extensive cheese selection on a trolley and I particularly like the burgundy eppoisse - a very strong cheese - luverley! All in all a very very good meal and an excellent place to stay for a night or two. Definitely on my list of stopovers to/from the UK.

Beautiful combination of old historical building with modern furnishings. Dinner was served out in the patio. Very gracious and nice server. Food was quite good although nit every course was so inventive. Would have stayed at the hotel but they have no air conditioning.

we have already stopped several times in this restaurant at noon to have a main course. You are served in a quick way (where not in France...) and the food is of a good quality. The food is not very original but it is what you expect of it.Don't drink champagne in a restaurant like this because it is overpriced... Go to a local Champagne house and you probably have a whole bottle for that price...

Had a quick lunch here, service was fast and attentive. I only had steak and chips which were good, I think good value for the money. This is the nicest restaurants I visited in the area and I highly recommend.
