Kakopetria is a town in Cyprus located 55 kilometres (34 mi) southwest of the capital, Nicosia, on the north facing foothills of the Troodos Mountains. It stands at an altitude of 667 metres and it is the highest village in the Solea Valley. The community has about 1,200 permanent inhabitants and a couple hundred more who either have a summer house or are originally from Kakopetria but work in Nicosia. Near Kakopetria there is church from 11th century, Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis , UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This was a real disappointment, as we walked past we should of known from the guy outside giving it the hard sale to try and entice us in. We had seen the balcony from across the river and the setting is pretty cool...but once we had ordered our food...the experience was terrible. Waiters arguing with each other, our food took an hour to reach the table, and then not everyoneâs food was given to us. I ordered a special mixed grill and the Souvla was dry, Iâm pretty sure the chicken was microwaved, it was dry and inedible. Chicken souvlaki was dry as well. We complained and were directed to another member of staff who shouted something in our direction and stormed off...as a result...so did we, without paying. There are many better places to eat in this beautiful village. Avoid this place.

Had the BBQ spare ribs, the meat didn't fall off the bone. The chips weren't great. The mango yoghurt smoothie had a weird aftertaste. Overall it was average, not bad but not amazing. The low prices probably represent the quality of food. Large portions though.

Eating lunch drinking beer and local wine while watching the waterfall and ducks.The food was great and the service friendly and kind.We got complementary coffee and kids got orange juice.Will come back here first chance I get.

We were seven people and all of us ordered the trout in butter sauce which is truly delicious. Everyone was happy. The grilled haloumi is also very good, one if the best we had in Cyprus. The restaurant is quite big but always busy so reservations are required.

A tradition restaurand in Kakopetria village, having out-sitting with great view, fantastic food, excellent service and good prices. My favorite dish at this restaurant is trout in butter garlic sauce served with jacket potato, homemade bread and fresh Greek salad with fetta cheese. We paid 83 euros for 4 persons including drinks. We love this restaurant !
