This is a nice place right on the junction. Restaurants serves very nice european menu. Evenings they have salad buffet which is very good. Many staff can speak English.

Excellent site views over Alpstein/Säntis area, if weather allows. They serve local homemade food with an unbelievable service kindness. Its small but extra fine. Daily dish at 13 CHF, which was very tasty and combined white house wine (2cl) at 5.30 CHF. After we ordered cappuccino at 4.20 and coffee at 3.80 CHF. What made the difference was their serve their homemade cake with it at no charge. We spent 2 hours there and we would high recommend the experience at this hidden site. Many thanks to the owners Heidi & Alfred.

Weekend evening meals in Herisau are not easy to come by but we were recommended to try Il Pomodoro and were very pleased indeed. The staff were welcoming, the food and wine great. On a warm summer evening we had a table in the conservatory, which is bright and light, but inside the restaurant itself looked very warm and cosy and must be especially inviting when the weather is poor. If we ever find ourselves in need of a meal in Herisau again, the Il Pomodoro will be the place we return to.

Very Nice place, the people are very friendly and they speak english. The Appenzeller specialities like the Appenzeller Rosti is just the best. Also the Cordon Bleu is very good. They have small portion plates as well and fitness teller. I recommend everyone to go there.

The first time we ate here a year or two ago we were put off by the huffy hostess who seemed desperate to show she was better than the staff. Because of this we didnât return for quite a while, which is a shame as the food is very good. This last visit on a Sunday afternoon (when most restaurants seem to be closed) was fortunately much more pleasant and we all agreed that it is a very good place to go to.Our salads were delicious as were the main courses. Service on this Sunday was attentive and friendly and we really had nothing to grumble about. Even if the food wasnât so good, it is worth stopping there to enjoy the panoramic view of the Säntis mountain area and the other side, reaching over to Zurich. There is a lovely garden bar/lounge area which in warm months is the place to enjoy a drink.

Just like 90% of Italian restaurants outside Italy, this place would close in 3 months if located anywhere in Italy.I tried a vegetarian pizza and I found on it quite a few things that I've honestly never seen on an authentic Italian pizza, like broccoli and spinach, while none of the regular veggie items where present (onions, peppers, eggplants). Also, I'd be curious to know what kind of yeast has been used to get a pasta so little leavened. My colleague went for some kind of factory-made tortelli which were swimming in a super-liquid panna. He didn't complain though. But luckily I found something really Italian: when some friends of the owner arrived for dinner (around 15 minutes later than me), they got the best table and received their pizza right away, while I was still waiting for mine.I won't talk about the price: my pay is in Euros so I'm a bit sensitive about this topic. No wifi available, just in case.Dear Redflix,Thank you for your review about our Ristorante. First of all we want to apologize wholeheartedly to you for this unsatisfactory visit to La Pergola. We have been a successful business for over 30 years now and have a broad and loyal customer base. We are proud of how many satisfied customers we serve in our Ristorante every day. While we take your review seriously and will use it for further improvements of our restaurant, we also want to point out that, especially when it comes to food, there are just so many different tastes. Case in point is our vegetarian pizza here. There is no standard recipe for a vegetarian pizza. We make it based on the season and availability of the vegetables and that is why it can be different from what you know as vegetarian pizza. Also there are different styles of how to make a pizza. Our pizza is based on the roman pizza style and not what you refer to as an unleavened pizza dough. All of our doughs ferment for 24 hours before they are ready to be used. Having said that, we hope you will have a better time on your next visit to our Ristorante La Pergola.Tanti cari saluti,Roberto Cavaliere

I highly recommend this restaurant if you ever find yourself in area! Splendid atmosphere and the service was five-star! Waitresses were friendly, smiley, and made you feel welcome. Food was superb! Husband had the steak which was cooked to perfection and I had the fish and spinach and it was equally as good! I would definitely go back and plan on taking family members when the come to visit!
