This place definitely lived up to expectation. Lovely atmosphere, good service from friendly, pleasant staff, and great food. I had the Cajun chicken and my husband chose the Toulouse-style cassoulet with duck leg - both were absolutely excellent. I booked on the strength of the reviews Iâd read on here, and it did not disappoint in any way. We will definitely return when weâre next in Hexham! What a great review. Really pleased you enjoyed your evening and Danielleâs and we look forward to your next visit.

It was extremely embarrassing to be taken out to lunch at Bouchon by my family - as a special holiday treat - only to end up wishing we'd gone somewhere else!Service in the restaurant was dire. It felt as though our table and those around us were being deliberately 'held up' so that we'd all finish lunch and leave the restaurant at roughly the same time. I also got the feeling that there was a large party in upstairs which was perhaps one reason as to why service downstairs was so slow. Surely additional waiting staff would help to alleviate such slow service.Two hours for a simple lunchtime menu of the day...ok, all freshly cooked and beautifully presented...but still, 2 hours? Or is this what Bouchon wants for its customers. Is this meant to be the Bouchon experience?My advice is that if you have time and KNOW you will be in for a long wait make sure you've got lots of topics of conversation ready to chat about! Your food though, when it finally arrives, will be wonderful.

Visited with a group of friends and had a really good night.The food was superb - just loved the Halloumi fries, pizza was very good too. Everyone enjoyed what they ate with no complaints.Drinks were nice, apparently the pornstar martinis were very good.The staff were attentive but not overly so and very pleasant.The music later on was nice and we enjoyed some time in the bar area.Definitely be back again

Party of three for dinner and overnight bed & breakfast. Lovely welcome, nice corner room(no.5) on a fabulous day. The restaurant is small, bright and the kitchen is open and close to the diners. We had the larger of the two tasting menus and wine. Every mouthful was an explosion of taste and we argued constantly about which course was the best. Mine included the chicken liver mousse, the Northumbrian cheese, the roe deer....The wine waiter was open about her choices including having mixed feelings on serving orange wine (I did not like it).After breakfast the chef and his partner saw us off - a lovely touch.Go there - itâs lovely :)

This was my first visit to the Station Coffee House, Riding Mill.The place is a very Ambient converted Station House and has been open around 1 year.There is an excellent range of snacks, both hot and cold, and many can be prepared to order.Prices are reasonable, and the staff friendly and helpful.The Coffee House is adjacent to the Railway Station at Riding Mill, and is served by an hourly local train service to Hexham, and Newcastle on the Tyne Valley Line.
