Breda (Dutch pronunciation: [breːˈdaː] ( listen)) is a city and municipality in the southern part of the Netherlands, located in the province of North Brabant. The name Breda derived from brede Aa ('wide Aa' or 'broad Aa') and refers to the confluence of the rivers Mark and Aa. As a fortified city, the city was of strategic military and political significance. Although a direct Fiefdom of the Holy Roman Emperor, the city obtained a municipal charter; the acquisition of Breda, through marriage, by the House of Nassau ensured that Breda would be at the center of political and social life in the Low Countries. Breda had a population of 183,456 in 2017; the metropolitan area had a population of 324,812. It is part of the Brabantse Stedenrij.

Really nice place. Very nice food, compliments to Teis ;). Also loved the secret cocktail bar, didnât like the first cocktail the made me but I got the next one for free.

Wow what a surprise! The service at this place really amazed us. The waiters were extremely helpful, friendly and happy - in a way I don't think I've ever experienced before. Since my girlfriend was having her birthday, we received her main course for free!!The giros was good, the bifteki my girlfriend had was really good and had a rich flavour. Based on the service alone I would definitely recommend this place. Well done!

This vegeterian/vegan restaurant is perfect for a vegan lunch or dinner. There is a food buffet from which you take what you like (when I was there 90% of all options were vegan) and you pay by weight. A bit scary at first, because you don't know how much your meal will cost, but in the end it turned out to be very reasonable. Went back for desserts :-)If I would live in the neighbourhood, I would eat here every day! lol

We were here for the retirement party of a now-former colleague. The food is really amazing. Don't come here for quantity but for quality. Expect to eat several small meals and spend the evening here.Service is not fast but really good and friendly. Amazing food and beverage arrangements.

The Zuyd restaurant is located at the southern side of Breda Furnishings and decoration provides a brasserie atmosphere. In summer you can dine or have a glass at the terrace. Service is adequate and friendly. Traditional cuisine defines its character.We came on a weekday and the restaurant was complete, a good sign. We went for a classical 3-course diner and were not disappointed. Food is well presented and tasty.We recommend Zuyd to anyone who seeks good food at an acceptable price. The restaurant deserves a Bib Gourmand.

We had really negative experience there. The restaurant that is already quite expensive charged us 12.90 euro for still water from a jar that they boast they get from the local deep water reservoir! And can you imagine a limoncello for 8.90 euro per portion?! It is not in the menue and thus we couldn't know the price until we asked the waiter that is not a really convenient practice.And in general the food was not worth the money. Might be Michelin critics find those tastes interesting but I guess it is not what regular customers seek for.

Normally when I am in Breda and want beef I go to the Gaucho. Tried Diego for the first time and was very happy I did. Great service, nice choices on the menu. I had the 300 g filet and it was cooked to perfection.

We made a stop here for some beer and a bite. We had the selection of tapas. I never thought it was possible to be so creative with potatoes. All the tapas were amazing. We will definitely return here for dinner.

This cozy cafe, with indoor and terrace dining, is located on Veemarktstraat, near the market square in Breda. Their specialty - tostis! A tosti is similar to the French 'croque monsieur' - 2 slices of bread, with fillings between, toasted or grilled. A delicious 'toasted sandwich', great for a light meal or snack.Here you'll find mouth-watering tostis served by friendly staff. Their eye-catching, unique menu stands out. They offer a wide choice of tosti fillings (both savoury and sweet), different types of bread and sauces, hot and cold beverages as well as dessert. Further, they offer vegan tostis (a plus for vegans and those looking for a vegetarian alternative). Personally, I enjoyed their chicken tex-mex wholemeal bread tosti served with sliced cucumber on the side accompanied by truffle mayonnaise sauce. A crunchy crust on the outside with flavourful fillings - definitely a temping treat. Helpful staff, nice atmosphere. An interesting feature is their tosti cellar/basement. Guests will find swings for those who want to try a different type of seating.
