If you're in the rush of the city centre and need a peaceful place for a good meal, don't hesitate to push the door. I tried the burger, generous and tasty, with local cheese and potatoes well-cocked. My friend had a risotto aux chipirons...delicious! Reasonable list of choices that ensures a good quality products. I didn't tried desserts...maybe for the next time ?

Delicisous meals offered in this small and friendly bistro/brasserie. Origianal and perfectly seasonned meals and a good range of matching wines. Great place in Bayonne indeed!

We ate dinner here and we're not disappointed. The quality of the food is exceptional. Not only is the food good, some of the dishes were very different from your traditional dishes. There is a heavy seafood influence on this smallish menu, but the â¬25 formula is real value for money. The service was excellent. The waiter spoke good English and there is an English menu (with a few translation hiccups) available. Located next to the town's twin spire cathedral makes access easy. A 5 minute walk from the de Gaulle parking area.

Hello, Im new in Bayonne and use this site to find the good stuff, as I've done everywhere I go.We choosed Bakera for lunch (12th august) and I will not be back again. This is the 1st time the reviews were very far from what I found the place to be.We were seated on the large table by the kitchen, and the service was terrible, after 10 minutes I decided to take a picture of the menu board outside because the waiter didnt bring us the menus, courtesy water came about 10 minutes later (20 total) and the food almost 50 minutes since we seated.While we wait for ages, we could see the kitchen stuff drinking (dunno but maybe it was whiskey) , eating and leaving almost outside (he was by the back door but he was still inside the restaurant) for a smoke and not cleaning hands after the very quick break.The only waiter was busy but also got the time for talk and chat with other clients.The food was ok but just ok, prices were correct.I have been to places in Bayonne much much better than Bakera...Dear customer, I think you are a little hard in your comment. But if you find better elsewhere then do not hesitate, do not come back ... especially in the month of August. I hope in your work you are better than us, you. When the cook so he washes his hands, so he lives like everyone else. Know that it is no longer with us, and early October, a new chef, a new map for your pleasure, so do not hesitate to back test our kitchen or not. Now tell me where you work and I'll come test your nasty criticism. We have one life, take the time to live .....

You need to be a carnivore to enjoy this temple to the art of the roast and shrine to the foie gras ( fait maison). The helpings are large and beautifully presented. We had starters of foie gras and lamb sweetbreads with girolles. Both excellent . Then cote de veau roti and beef fillet with cooked foie gras served with peas in a casserole of lardons and juice . We couldn't manage dessert but it looked very good. Price was 38⬠each including an offered aperitif and pate. Great food and very good value .

We enjoyed an absolutely terrific lunch at La Grange, recently reopened after a very attractive renovation. We were seated next to two tables of regulars, who seemed to appreciate our enjoyment of the meal.As it was May, we had white asparagus with lovely hollandaise; hake served with an unusual zucchini tempura, beets, and couscous. Dessert was a baba au rhum (he) and creme caramel (me).The winelist was good and service excellent. Wish we'd gone back for dinner.

Visited in september 2015, we ordered two entrecotes and enjoyed them. The service is also good and the place offers free wifi. Watch out for the pigeons though, they're very demanding! :)

So extremely helpful for us non-french speaking novices, the chef both translating the menu and him and the owner going that extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our meal to the full.The food was very tasty, we particularly enjoyed the Bayonne Ham with a very generous serving of French Cheese as a shared starter, my husband then tucked in to a scummy meat pizza, which was light, fresh and appetizing and I ate a deliciously rich and sumptuous Lasagne, a shared Lemon cheesecake-like dessert and we were full to the brim. reasonably priced food albeit a little expensive for the wine but pretty perfect all in all. Great charming little Italian

Wonderful gourmet restaurant located in the heart of Petit Bayonne. The exterior has the classical have timbered appearance. The restaurant itself is lovely, with fantastic attention paid to the service.The lunch menul is quite a bargain, especially when you consider that it is traditional Basque food, but done in an extremely high quality style. The chef was quite nice, having rushed out to say goodbye to us. Try to arrive early, as they wish to stop service at a reasonable hour. Definitely make a reservation for dinner. One of the best dining experiences we have ever had.
