We were walking and we saw that restaurant with table outside. We looked at the menu and decided to try. It was a GREAT choice. My husband asked the owner what he suggested for a dish of the region and was really happy with it. We loved it so much that we went again the next day. By far that was the restaurant we liked the best in Calabria. Great food, good wine and nice peoples = The dolce vita

Bar's in Calabria are not very popular, Italy is best known for its pizzerias, restaurants and cafe / wine bars. It was a welcoming surprise to stumble across the 'Guinness Pub' over 3 years ago and we have frequented the lovely friendly pub many times since.One of biggest reasons for returning for a pint or two at the pub, is mainly due to the head bar manager 'Giovanni' he always welcomes you with a great welcoming smile, he offers you a taste of his latest drink and he always engages you in conversation (a great way for visitors to update their Italian language skills).The bar stocks the largest selection of beer, draught, wine and of course Guinness which I have ever seen in an Italian bar.The decor is similar to a typical old Irish bar, the walls are covered with masses of plaques, Guinness pictures, old Irish folklore and lots more images to keep your eyes wandering from wall to wall for at least an hour or two.The Guinness bar also provides a varied selection of Italian dishes as well as some bar snacks.Obviously if you are at a loose end on March 17th (St.Patrick's Day) and happen to be visiting Calabria, then in my opinion there is no better place to visit and enjoy a few pints of the black stuff.Keep up the good work Giovanni and hope to see you soon.Best Regards,PaulGrazie mille per le tue parole :)

Stopped in for lunch, owner did not provide menu. We ordered fried calamari, mixed salad, 2 spaghetti carbonara, 1 spaghetti with plane tomato sauce, 2 bottles of natural water. Total came out to 90 Euros!. We were in Tropea for 5 days and never paid this for dinner with drinks! When we expressed our disappointment in total, he was rude and said, "fine take your money, don't pay" We paid for the bil in full ....lwasn't about paying, the point was paying fair value. Other restaurants were charging 7.50 Euro for a plate of spaghetti. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If they don't give you a menu - get up and leave.
