This is really just basic fare. There is so much better Chinese food out there I'm surprised this is still going.

Cheap Lunch time special but took awhile for order to be processed. The small serving was sufficient. The down side was that there was not heating on in the waiting restaurant area. This is Kyneton 8 degrees. People kept leaving the door open. Great food but very poor communication and English speaking skills.

New kid on the block in Kyneton, only there three months, so I thought I would give them a go. A fairly conventional Chinese menu (not unusual in a small regional city), but with a few things I had not seen before. They make their own dumplings and they seem to have a good noodle menu. Would be a good choice for lunch. Ordered for the family: spicy roast pork (spice level as ordered), beef and black bean and honey chicken. All the family agreed, all the dishes were very,very good. Loved the spicy pork and the beef and blackbean was perhaps the best I have had.The Kyneton food strip was hardly buzzing on this Thursday night and there was only three people in the Oriental Phoenix. The pizza place seemed to be reasonably full. Could not help but think that this might be an undiscovered gem for many in Kyneton. They are missing out.No hesitation in recommending.
